------UPDATE-------
Ok Colors,
I have to take back some of what I said. She was definitely lacking ALOT of fundamental knowledge of history that is really inexcusable for a person placed in her position. Not just obscure or peripheral knowledge, but pretty basic stuff!
Becoming Vice President in 2008?
It's too much too soon.
I cringed at the 60 Minutes Interview with former McCain campaign manager, Steve Schmidt. I can tell, he's being pretty honest about most of it.
Although, after reflection, some of it was understandable, when I go through the timeline in my head of how this all unfolded. Being stuck on "O' Biden" as Schmidt said, was a verbal tick, and lots of people have an experience where they just can't seem to shake something from their head... whether from nerves, or whatever other reason. I think that the Vice Presidential debate came AFTER the Katie Couric interview. She was already working on learning or re-learning voluminous information about big chunks of American and world history, cramming throughout, while stumping nationwide on the campaign trail, working 16 hour days, all this coming after a disastrous interview on national television, and also the revelations of her teen daughter's pregnancy, and some of the media had already derided her, for being an Alaskan, and knowing how to clean a Moose, and shoot a gun... her daughter was being mocked and attacked, with some reports actually trying to suggest that Palin was not Trigg's mother, the child with Down Syndrome. Another media outlet, created a parody suggesting that Palin's husband had sex with his own daughters.
I mean, this is YOUR media here liberals.
Perverse and DISGUSTING and FAR MORE INEXCUSABLE than her lapses on history.
In any event... She is a devoted mother, loyal wife, hard working civil servant, believer in God and the values that represents... To be verbally raped like that... all the pressure she was absorbing, and all of it, simultaneously... It's a wonder she didn't have a nervous breakdown.
I'll have to agree that she was not ready for an office like that in 2008, even though the role of VP for DECADES has been almost completely ceremonial... even still... Presidents die in office every few decades, and that job... President... Is already the most nerve-wracking job there is in the world. Everyone I have ever witnessed, holding that office, appeared noticeably older, dramatically so, just a few years into it. Even Obama is already showing it. It is inescapable... It's a hell of alot of responsibility, all under the microscope of not just America's scrutiny, but the world's.
But to deal with what she dealt with, and handle it with class.
I actually respect her more, than I did yesterday.
What I am SHOCKED about, is the ABSOLUTE dysfunction of McCain's campaign managers. What idiots!!! And now, disloyal idiots!!! What a bunch of bumbling, reactionary buffoons! They never had any real plan for McCain. McCain is expecting Lieberman as VP, his trusted friend, but the right-wing zealots of the party, couldn't handle that, so he was nixed, last minute, and they actually found Palin on the INTERNET!!!
F*cking bozos!
And now, they are being disloyal, sealing their own futures, because they need to blame all this on Palin, even though they SIMULTANEOUSLY admit that they would have lost be a much larger margin, without her on the ticket.
Dumbasses!
Well, Sarah's in training now. FoxNews is a good gig for her, where she stays in the spotlight... she'll get a great grasp on world issues, cause her gig is at a news channel, and even on the opinion segments she will be working, it will be current events, and politicians galore, and she is going to master the cut-throat, dirty world of politics, while not losing her soul, because her faith is too strong, and it will keep her balanced, while she trains for bigger things.
She may very well be President one day.
Ha ha!!! LOL
I can see your faces now.
But you don't know what I know!
Actually, you don't even have to know what I know. Her being at Fox, is an opportunity for Murdock to set her up for VP or even President one day. Some of you guys have labeled Murdock as a right-wing tycoon who only uses his power to support Republican candidates, but Murdock is more in love with his fortune, than with his own politics... which true... are generally conservative... but from his native Australia to here in the states, he has a history of supporting EITHER SIDE at any given time. He actually had a hand in helping Obama win the Democratic nomination, through his New York Post paper's endorsement of Obama. Asked whether he had a hand in the paper's endorsement, he replied "Of course! He's a rockstar! And what he's saying on education... I want to meet him... see if he walks the walk!"
Murdock has also supported liberal candidates over conservative ones in the past, in Australia, before becoming a U.S. citizen.
Whatever candidate he thinks will help his businesses, generally that is the one he is going with. He has a habit of supporting a candidate, then suddenly that person WINS and it gets alot easier, for approval of whatever business venture he is involved in at the moment.
This is the way it works folks... not just here, but Australia... you name it.
It's all a racket.
But Sarah Palin may very well become the next jewel in his crown.
He needs politicians, like any billionaire does.
