My voice is holding up remarkably well and it seems like all the different types of singing actually helps. Has anyone else been in two completely opposite bands before? What was your experience?
I was in a heavy/alt rock cover band at the same time as the one I'm in now, for almost a year.
The originals band started taking off and it all became too much, so I dropped the coverband.. but that wasn't a big deal as a background player.
One thing you should really concern yourself the most with is image-
If you have a sweet-girl or other "innocent" image going on with the R&B stuff, the incubus WILL catch up with you and tarnish advances you make if you should be picked up by a label...
It sounds crazy, but unless you have no ambition of going past regional, I'd figure out who you are and what you want to do before just 'running with it all'
