Oh, I do believe that we are damaging our environment, big time, and there's no doubt there! I'm paying attention alright, so much so, that I can detect when someone is trying to pull a fast one! Blaming humans for everything that's happening with the climate, now, THAT is absurd. Human may not be helping, but there's a lot more to it then just, humans are the cause. There are so many variables in play, not considering them, is absurd!.
I have to say I agree with Colors. Whether or not we're the cause is really the insignificant detail IMO. We are encouraged to argue that detail, rather than admit our contributions and attempt to curb our own disasterous ways.
There's a reason bottled water is replacing tap water. There's a reason breathing inner-city air is equated to 3 packs of cigarettes a day, and there's a reason our kids are developing diseases such as diabetes, lukemia, downs, autism, aspergers, mental retardation, etc.. at increasing rates per capita. We pollute our land, ground water, air, everything, and then do little or nothing (as a society) to correct it. Funny, that the coal we burn for power is the primary contributor of massive amounts of mercury that has now saturated our local environments. We're screwed.
The corporations that are responsible buy out the politicians and the politicians launch aggressive propaganda wars to get us all divided and fighting amongs ourselves. This is the same problem as healthcare and a whole host of other "wedge" issues.
It's exasperating.
