I hear ya! If you ever stop in New Brunswick, give me a shout, I'll invite you over. We'll sit on my deck, drink a cold one and puff away!!! Nobody would bother us, in fact, they are most likely going to join us...

I can't drink much, because of a stomach condition that I have. So, I often substitute a drink for a puff :P

Is it legal in Canada?
Man, I haven's smoked that stuff in over 20 years. So how DID time fly by so fast then? lol.

It's illegal to sell and grow, but smoking is pretty much tolerated. Once in a while, you'll get peaceful protests, to fully legalize marijuana. They sit around and smoke weed in front, or near by, a government building. Most of the time, there are no arrests!

We are 6.8 billions in this planet. We are over populated and it’s creating all kinds of problems, at different scales. So, I won’t shred one tear if we can eliminate the bad seeds.

After reading lots of stats on recidivism, in Canada, I’ve came to the conclusion that most serious offenders (rapist, child molesters, serial killers, etc), will always be serious offenders, so why keep them around and having our tax money to pay for their comfort in prison?

Never Ever Ever Ever Ever give the government the right to kill! EVER!!!!!
People lie!
Innocent people die!
Death is the easy way out!
The government will never find the dividing line for who deserves to die, and I sure as hell don't want a bunch of shallow ass politicians making that choice for me or my loved one's... EVER!

I can understand your argument, Hayden King. However, in today's world where technology can make the difference between lies and facts (not the government);I find it pretty clear about who should die, or not.

Like, in a case of a serial violent rapist where there are multiple DNA evidence collected from the victims, where there are multiple trophies collected at the residence of the rapist, plus, the admission of guilt by the rapist himself. I have to say, as far as the lies go, it's pretty much impossible in these cases. There is such thing as undeniable evidence!!!

It's not about killing, it's about protecting society from certain uncorrectable individuals.

Also, as for your comment here:

I would say that most soldiers that are fighting insurgents to bring freedom and order, would disagree with you. The government does decide who should die, every time they send your fellowmen to war. Same applies to internal affairs!

I'm sure that you are glad that "shallow ass politicians" decided to eliminate the Brits, 233 years ago, so you and your love ones could have your independence.... :P

Capital punishment is an unwinnable argument. Either you believe in it or you don't. I'd rather give each state the right to choose for or aginst it. Perhaps when each state votes for governor there could be a referendum concerning allowing or not allowing capital punsihment for the next four years and vote on it every four years. Same goes for allowing abortion or not allowing abortion. If Texans vote for capital punishment then so be it. I personally have ambivalent feelings about both capital punishment and abortion. Having capital punishment has never been a deterrent to future crime except for the person who is put to death. There's been far too many cases where new evidence comes to light and inmates on death row are freed, sometimes after many years. I think criminals should serve life sentences at hard labor. I would love to see chain gangs come back into style. Let kids see hardened criminals chained together picking up trash or digging ditches or whatever. Abortion should definitely be voted on every four years in each state. If Texas doesn't want to have it legal in their state the next four years I'm fine with that. This constantly arguing about these unwinnable issues doesn't do any good IMO. Let's give everybody a chance to vote on major issues instead of letting a few judges decide what's best for everybody. In each state the majority should rule what's best for them. If California votes against capital punishment and Kansas for it I'm fine with that. I also believe all drugs should be legalized. Think I'm crazy or not, somebody buying or selling drugs is NOT anybody's business but their own. If somebody who uses drugs commits a crime they should get double the sentence a sober persojn would get. Legislating morality has never worked. When we had prohibition there was more drinking and more violence associated with illegal alcohol business than ever before or after Prohibition. Having alcohol legal and drugs illegal is insane. I say legalize it and collect BILLIONS of dollars in tax revenue on drug sales. Take the BILLIONS of dollars in revenue and ADVERTISE like crazy against drug use. Take the BILLIONS of dollars in tax revenue and contribute that towards national healthcare. PUT THE DRUG CARTELS OUT OF BUSINESS IMMEDIATELY. I don't think there would be any more or less drug use than today. In fact it may actually go down. I remember when I was a teenager how cool it was to smoke in the boys room, or sneak over a friend's house and have a few beers. We wre getting away with something. If everything's legal what fun would it be to not get away with something? The main reason why pot is illegal has nothing to do with morality. It's all about the various industries that would stand a chance to lose billions of dollars in revenue: pharmaceutical companies, textiles, utilities, to name a few. Alcohol plays a factor in over half of all murders committed in the USA. When is the last time you heard of a crazed pot-head shooting somebody or beating up somebody? Sorry to go digress but I do that occasionally...

That's what prison's are for!!!
And the argument that housing them for life is too expensive is crap; would you save a few bucks (and it doesn't cost much comparatively to death row) and justify it with savings when innocent people are killed?
Technology or not there will always be DA's and cop's that do their job for the wrong reason's and get innocent people convicted. period!

as a nation, the US has the highest percentage of inprisoned persons.
Most of which are petty crimes such as mary jane possition.
But true criminals (like my good friend Bryan White) can commit a class 1 assult with a deadly weapon (meaning it was planned and exicuted) and only have to take a 6 month anger managment class.
So what the law is saying is this steriods/maryjane > Stapping someone
I dont even know how they concluded that.

A long fall on a short rope is cheap. The lawyers skiming off tax dollars for 10 to 15 years is what is expensive.
And as posted above, it is a unwinnable argument in most minds.
Your either for it or your agin it.
I say take the murderers, forced rapest to the County seat where they commited the crime, gather all the juvenile offenders up to watch, and hang there ass in the public square.
You give criminals a choice of where they do their time, they wont choose Texas. (or Arizona LOL)

Those were NOT politician's, they were revolutionaries!
Every War since has been perfectly planned, promoted and executed... the same banks finance BOTH sides!
Do you believe that 911 was executed by terrorist's?
Do you believe that Pearl Harbor was a surprise?
Do you believe that American aristocracy knew nothing of the death camps for 4 years and did not support the Nazi's?
Do you think that D.U.M.B.'s are a myth?
Do you think that global warming is caused by human action's?

If you answered yes to any of the above please go study real fact's of these cases, and don't get the info from our history books or politician's... the winner gets to write the history.
If you would like any info on any of these subject's I will gladly provide you with undeniable evidence!

I truly understand and appreciate Hayden's passions.
Though I sometimes disagree.
I dont believe there is such a thing as undeniable evidence in the realm of humanity.
Why, you may ask?
I see the undeniable evidence of God in nature, Jesus, and The Holy Spirit in my own life, yet many do not see, and would deny, that to me which is as plain as the sun in the Texas sky today.
To deny the obvious, is much of humanity's passion.

Those were NOT politician's, they were revolutionaries!

The Founding Fathers of the United States were the political leaders who signed the Declaration of Independence in 1776 or otherwise took part in the American Revolution in winning American independence from Great Britain, or who participated in framing and adopting the United States Constitution in 1787-1788, or in putting the new government under the Constitution into effect...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Political Leaders ARE politicians.

Politician: is a political leader (from Greek "polis") who is involved in influencing public decision making. This includes people who hold decision-making positions in government, and people who seek those positions, whether by means of election, coup d'état, appointment, electoral fraud, conquest, right of inheritance (see also: divine right) or other means. Politics are not limited to governance through public office. Political offices may also be held in corporations, and other entities that are governed by self-defined political processes......http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Politicians

ok Dave, maybe my passion outran my brain for a minute there!

I just don't trust our government to do any of the necessary decision making anymore; the people in there now and for the past 40 years have proven only that they can't do anything that looks out for the general population first, and their provider's second.
They have allowed themselves to be bullied into submission by, and haven't had the nut's to stand up to the corporatist and globalist. Now We The People are nothing more than something in the way of their elitist plans for the future!

this is getting very close to undeniable; you can find most of the evidence in government document's, many on gov web sites!

True!

When I listen to our MPs, I get the feeling that it's all about what's best for their political party, and not for what's best for Canada and its citizens. Plus, the childish fights can be extremely embarrassing to watch...sometime, very shameful too. We have too many political parties in Canada (Liberal, Conservative, NDP, Block and the Greens). No wonder we are having trouble on electing a majority government!

"The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge, natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism." -- George Washington's 1796 farewell Warning on Political Parties
