I played in a band for about 20 years in Pa., left because I moved to NC. Got into a dictatorship (oh, did I say that?) for about a year down here. Got to the point where all of the songs I brought with me that we were doing were dissappearing one by one. It was either "we don't think that song is going over good" or "we don't like playing that song". Practice was like "Ok, we are going to learn this Skynyrd song today". It got to the point where I was basically the Yankee outsider in the band. Low and behold, I hadn't heard from anybody in a couple of weeks, so I called one of the members to find out when the next practice was. Got his wife, she said "Oh, he is at band practice". Hmmmm.......ok.......

Called over there and they were like "Oh yeah, we were going to tell you, we brought somebody else in". Yeah? When? Why the hell did you hire me in the first place? "Well, there is a lot of mistakes being made, blah blah blah".....Yeah? By EVERYBODY.....next excuse......

Needless to say, the band dissolved shortly after that, because apparently the guy they brought in wasn't working out. I'm not saying that I was any better than this guy or they broke up because I wasn't there or anything like that. They just had THE WRONG ATTITUDE. I have seen a lot of bands come and go, because they think they are going somewhere, when in reality, the only place they are going is back to work the next day. The thing that hurt me the most was the back stabbing crap that went on. Don't tell me everything is fine, then pull something like that. I am in this to have fun, but that left a bad taste in my mouth, and I haven't pursued playing with anybody else down here for about 2 years now. But I guess I can't blame everybody, so if the right people come along I will put something together. The band in Pa. lasted so long I think because we had no egos, we had fun, and knew where our place was. We weren't perfectionists, as long as people were having a good time listening to us, we were happy. We did a reunion show last year after 5 years, and it was just like old times. That's the way it should be.

this band i was in was a cover band, and yea sometimes this guitarist would do songs on stage without rehearsal, and gave out cds with out a set list and says learn all these songs and doesnt play them, he calls me and says they are going to use the guitarist they got rid of, because he knows all the songs and they want to impress the people there, hell they dont even know that i know couple of people at the club who are part of ownership and bar manager and wouldnt say poop about if i made a slight mistake, ive played long enough and am proffessional enough to handle and had been handling their gigs, and he has the nerve to tell me we are booked more dates \there and if i could go both nites to sing the acdc songs and play one song the other guitarist doesnt know. besides i am more of a original player and already getting response from other players, i think i will get my songs and other covers and go out and let the music do the talking, this band hyndcite has been just sitting stale because it has so many players and they all go to sit in, i will be better off with my new group, it funny how people like this get this karma that will come back and bite them in the behind, plenty of more bands and musician, i have always succeded more when i put my bands together instead of trying to jump into one. thanks 8)

About ten years ago, I was in this really great band. We never really broke up, we just stopped doing gigs. I half expect to get a call some day from one of the guys, saying we have a gig! NO, NOT REALLY, but it would mess me up cos I thought it was okay by now to be in another band ten years later,LOL! Hey, it's better than the band breaking up and being all bitter and mad at each other, huh! Besides, I can multi-task, I'm a woman! Two Bands, it's a nice dream!
