Hello Sanshouheil,
Hadn't come across you for a long time and so had a wizz down your songs on profile... I liked the last one 'Had Enough' for its wheezy singing really like the singer had had enough; and like at the end where the rythm pulls itself sort of to a stop like it has had enough as well.
The effect might be entirely coincidental but it worked for me... not in any religious or uplifting way I hasten to add though, and in fact I find it hard to imagine any of the songs bringing anyone to the way the truth and the light... which from my point of view is a good thing!

But I like what you are doing over there across the pond Kung Fu, and I wish I was close enough to come and jam with you to see if we could get some religio/atheistic interplay going, as often the most interesting stuff comes from opposite poles being brought together.

My songs have sometimes been described as being spiritual though not religious.
I sometimes feel I miss out a bit here in the secular UK, but I did have a very good friend once who was a devout Christian, and he was part of a performing tour called Sun-Song which had some really beautiful uplifting songs... and at times sung by some really beautiful uplifting girls who I was much more taken by than the religious stuff!
I really miss those days and that crowd... it seems ironic that I generally seem to like religious people more than secular; if only I could go along with the fairy story bit!

Cheers guys and keep on rocking!

Perhaps one day my friend you will see the fairy tale through the eyes of the spirit as I have. It is not mine to raise the harvest, mearly to sew the seed. Untill that day you are always welcome to share our music, and yours, in any context you see fit.
Thanks for the comments and the listen!
It's all I ask of anyone. :D

Hello Sanshouheil,
I feel I want to clarify, because I know email can easily be misconstrued, that although my mail was lighthearted I was not taking the piss and I respect the fact that we are all so different.
But I do generally speak pretty much as I believe, and I do believe that within the context of my own life experience and observation, that religion is essentially a fantasy thing.
But I am not against its existence, even if it does seem to cause most of the grief in the world... and I am saying directly what I believe when I say "seems to cause", because in fact I think that if man hadn't invented religion to fight over, he would have soon found something else, because our nature is tribal and warlike.
So I say, if it works for you, stick with it!
And whoever your god is, shalom, and may he bless you my friend,
Mark.............

Hello Airviking,
I guess there must be many ways to write songs, as there are always many ways to approach everything in life... but it seems a good way nevertheless.
Music and notes are I think also an independent language within itself; so a piece can create itself, or be created without reference to external worldly things.
The external worldly things are probably as much a scene setter, than actually something that defines what notes will arrive... so the actual music can still be an independent language within itself.

Alfred Reed sounds an interesting guy, though I confess I have never heard of him! Tell me more?

Alfred reed was a composer back in the day when instruments where made of brass and zinc, and there where more then 4-5 people in the band. Any composer that can orginize something like that has my respect becuase I would over do it if I had 50+ people. You'd have to listen to my songs 50+ times to understand what's going on becuase I have each instrument have it's own voice. Melodically of course.

Hi Airviking,
I thought you meant Alfred Reed composed using physical rather than notational ideas... but interesting.
I have not got enough music in me for 50 instruments; I can just about think of things for guitar, bass, and drums to do!
Cheers,
