Hi I'm Paleo Pete and I'm a guitarholic
I used to get in trouble in school for humming songs I was learning, drumming on the desk or practicing fingerings on a book or something. When the tendon going to my left ring finger was severed and later surgically reconnected, I was trying to play guitar 2 weeks after surgery even though the doctor strictly ordered me not to touch a guitar until the cast came off. I have hell going to sleep at night both because the dogs next door and the little guitar player inside my head won't shut up. I have a tune I recently wrote running through my head right now making it difficult to concentrate on my typing.
I own 9 guitars in working condition including a lap steel and two in need of repair, two saxes, a Wurlitzer Electronic Piano, two xylophones, a flute, a clarinet and 4 amps, plus a 5th amp in need of repairs and several stompboxes. I still brake for pawn shops and music stores. Never enough guitars, I'm always looking for another one.
I play air guitar when I can't get my hands on a real one. I pick up toy guitars in department stores and try to make them actually sound decent. (It can be done, I've done it more than once.)
I have no life, I have very few friends, sometimes I'm barely functional. But as long as I have a few guitars, I'm OK...
I feel better already...
