Try "Don't bite the hand that feeds you" instead. And in fact, no one is being fed, so your argument is irrelevant, as it is a free event. It is also a politically charged event, which means a person's values may now conflict with their art. That is always a difficult decision.

You and Phil seem to be saying "F*ck your beliefs, get exposure."

And that is supposed to be laudable?

It shows a lack of character to me.

Bands who may not support the policies of any given political party, may refuse an offer to play. No matter the amount of money. No matter the degree of exposure. They take a stand on principle.

If it were U2 refusing to play the Republican Convention, you would no doubt cheer and praise them.

So aside from hypocrisy, what else do you and Phil find in common?

dont make me laugh craig....who feeds you???where does your money come from????you make all your money from music???

phil hit the nail on the head...its craigs way or the highway..
ive seen you spew page after page of drivel trying to hammer home a point that nobody cares about.....if you dont like what someone says its 12 pages of other spite and hate to try and destroy the character of the person....you did it to me and ive seen you do it to others...i fail to see how you can call yourself a good christian...does it make you a better american to down talk and try to blind people with your own sense of self worth.....you need to keep it in line...as ive said i dig your music and i respect you as a musician but your ultra republican/christian knee jerk reaction to everything on the boards is getting old....

and the whole "defending sans" bull crap...sans knows what he did and he seems big enough and dumb enough to defend himself, unless of course you also see yourself as a defender of the red-neck race...

i know you must miss fighting with irmy, or should i say being served by irmy....but that doesnt mean everyone else is fair game....
youre better than that craig....both you and i know it.

Well this is all very interesting. All I can say is, I must be the only one here that's getting laid on a regular basis. Oh except for maybe the Captain but that's just because he lives next door to a goat farm.

Craig,

You know I respect you as a writer and player, but you just remind me of a little playground bully and bandmix is your playground. Your little point counterpoint is well for want of a better word pointless.

Grow Up Dude

Oh yeah have a blessed day

i fail to see how you can call yourself a good christian...

A traditional Christian? If that is the measure, then I am a TERRIBLE Christian, since I do not believe in a literal, physical, heaven and hell, and I DO believe that salvation is a personal experience between an individual and God, and as such, people of any religion or no religion, can be saved. I find organized religion in general, to be corrupt and motivated as much by money and influence, as any spiritual goals one could aspire to. I believe that God, as Creator, has inspired divine truth in almost all religions. Those positions alone, make me a horrible Christian.

irish anthony wrote:does it make you a better american to down talk and try to blind people with your own sense of self worth.....

You mean, in the way that you are a guest of this country, yet demean many of it's citizens as imbeciles and rednecks and maroons and idiots, because we don't all subscribe to your pu**y ass Euro-centric politics and policies?

irish anthony wrote:your ultra republican/christian knee jerk reaction to everything on the boards is getting old....

We caused a chaotic environment in Iraq, and because I believe it is therefore our responsible to clean the mess up, I am ultra-Republican? I can't stand George Bush. I am ashamed we elected him President. How does that make me ultra-Republican?

It's a shame you haven't read many of my "12 page rants" or maybe you would have a clearer understanding of my religious and political beliefs, none of which are traditional anything, ultra anything, nor knee jerk anything. I have a varied belief system, developed, not from just buying into any party or philosophy, but instead researching all of them and formulating my own opinions.

irish anthony wrote:and the whole "defending sans" bull crap...sans knows what he did and he seems big enough and dumb enough to defend himself, unless of course you also see yourself as a defender of the red-neck race...

Come to Atlanta sometime. Until then, go f*ck yourself.

irish anthony wrote:i know you must miss fighting with irmy, or should i say being served by irmy....

Irminsul serves me? That's hilarious. He and I disagree on almost everything, but at least he has a high enough IQ to make it challenging, and force me to reassess some of my positions occasionally.

The reality is, that you, and a few others here are extremely liberal. Mindlessly so. And so, it is ok for you to spew Bush hatred all day long, call Americans idiots and rednecks, even while pursuing music and monetary sustenance from the targets of your vitriolic slanders, but when someone disagrees, and intelligently so, it pisses you off.

I hold a variety of views, which would be labeled both liberal and conservative, depending on the issue. I'm not an extremist for anyone, or any party or philosophy. I find valuable ideas and beliefs in many places.

btw...

Hey Michael,

Did you ever win that case against The Clubhouse Sports Pub?

I know you are a wealthy entrepreneur and all, with important music industry connections, but when you only have two clubs using your DJ service at $675 a week, it really sucks, losing one of them. Good luck on winning that back-pay, and sorry to hear about that hospital stay last year. ;-)

Also...

Please don't destroy my music career. I don't think I could bear having a small local DJ business destroy all my hopes and dreams, with all the powerful connections DJing 2 small clubs can bring. K? Thanks!

boy did this thread get ugly-

I just read through 4 pages and cannot even understand why everyone is arguing.

We ALL have more in common than we have differences.

Craig, you are preaching and being pushy with your views. Understand that you are coming off that way.

Irish, you are enabling him, willfully.

Captain, you are the guy who shows up to the fire with a barrel of gasoline.

and the irony, all this started over a PEACE concert! hah!

Sure you have...

sans knows what he did and he seems big enough and dumb enough to defend himself, unless of course you also see yourself as a defender of the red-neck race...

Sans is "dumb" and a "redneck", and I am the defender of the redneck "race"? Superficial judgments, based on what? A position over a war, and respect for my country's Second Amendment?

It's not the first time, you've made such insults.

irish anthony wrote:look at the other posts...im not the only person to think your a bully..

I debate positions aggressively if I feel particularly strongly about them, but I believe I do so intelligently, and not just resort to name calling on a regular basis. Because I write virtual dissertations to make my case, does not make me a bully.

But I can be a asshole when the mood strikes, so provide me specific examples, and I will reflect on it. I've tried to apologize when I felt I was out of line. And am certainly willing to do so now, if warranted.

irish anthony wrote:but im sure as ever YOUR right and everyone else is wrong....

I've been wrong in life plenty of times, but I also have learned to consider all views and drop any that I hold, which are proven to be wrong. This has allowed me the opportunity in my old age, to be right, more often than I am wrong, through this simple filtering process. Yes, I enjoy being right, and try to be right as often as possible, but I have no aversion to admitting I am wrong and adopting any new viewpoints.

irish anthony wrote:even though i dont like SOME of your views i could still say that i respected you in my last post...it looks like you dont have respect for anything or anyone who isnt you....

Not true. There are things I like and respect in just about everyone who participates here. Even the ones that call me a dumb redneck and insult my entire existence in life, though I try to live by high principles.

But when you call me and and others "dumb rednecks" and refer to a "race" of rednecks. I take offense. And I'll tell you so, in as strong of terms as you yourself used in the first place. Don't insult me that degradingly, and not expect me to tell you to "F*ck off!".

irish anthony wrote:just for the record i would love to talk face to face with you...just to see if your as tough as you think you are...im sure i could put manners on your old bones.....

Well come give me some manners then. But when you insult whole groups of citizens of my country, and you are doing so as a guest of the very people you insult, I'm gonna kick the living sh*t out of you if you say it in front of me.

Well, I can accept that. Thanks for phrasing it that way, which I see as more accurate, than "bullying", which connotes, often violent, intimidation of weaker beings.

Kramerguy wrote:Irish, you are enabling him, willfully.

Yeah, you cynical Irish f*cker... stop enabling me! ;-)

Yeah, we're all like a fascinating chemistry experiment to Scott, and he likes mixing the pretty colored liquids and watching them go "Boom!" all over the forums! LOL

That is amusing in a way.

My apologies for desecrating an otherwise potentially enjoyable hippie holiday.

Ooh I love it, as the LOVE FEST is officially over.

IA, I'd watch the "has been" remarks, as you resemble them as well whether you realize it or not.

Craig, I am surprised you blew your top on IA. That's very unlike you. You may be verbose and long winded, but it makes for good reading.

And yeah I do get laid regularly, Gentry, thanks for asking. Your mother is quite within my price range.

Otherwise gents, to hate on each other is fruitless. Like emo bands, "it all means nothing."

If you want to agree, lovely.

If you want to disagree, lovely.

Discourse is the meat and potatoes of critical thinking.

PS: Shred I think you laid out the most crushing shot heard round the internet when you outed ACE for copying that quote and he didn't even give credit to who ever originally wrote that. I tried to check the link, but it's down at the moment. I'd buy you a drink or 5 if you were close enough to hold the mug.

As for the gasoline remark? Why not, doesn't every one want to start fires that can be seen from space? lol

Well, I'm not so disappointed bout the arguments here. I squeezed a bunch of good info that I didn't know. Whether it's wrong or right, that's up to me to research on my own :D

Thanks, arguing folks.
