Bands who may not support the policies of any given political party, may refuse an offer to play. No matter the amount of money. No matter the degree of exposure. They take a stand on principle.

If it were U2 refusing to play the Republican Convention, you would no doubt cheer and praise them.

If that is the measure, then I am a TERRIBLE Christian, since I do not believe in a literal, physical, heaven and hell, and I DO believe that salvation is a personal experience between an individual and God, and as such, people of any religion or no religion, can be saved. I find organized religion in general, to be corrupt and motivated as much by money and influence, as any spiritual goals one could aspire to. I believe that God, as Creator, has inspired divine truth in almost all religions. Those positions alone, make me a horrible Christian.

Irminsul serves me? That's hilarious. He and I disagree on almost everything, but at least he has a high enough IQ to make it challenging, and force me to reassess some of my positions occasionally.

The reality is, that you, and a few others here are extremely liberal. Mindlessly so. And so, it is ok for you to spew Bush hatred all day long, call Americans idiots and rednecks, even while pursuing music and monetary sustenance from the targets of your vitriolic slanders, but when someone disagrees, and intelligently so, it pisses you off.

I hold a variety of views, which would be labeled both liberal and conservative, depending on the issue. I'm not an extremist for anyone, or any party or philosophy. I find valuable ideas and beliefs in many places.

I debate positions aggressively if I feel particularly strongly about them, but I believe I do so intelligently, and not just resort to name calling on a regular basis. Because I write virtual dissertations to make my case, does not make me a bully.

I've been wrong in life plenty of times, but I also have learned to consider all views and drop any that I hold, which are proven to be wrong. This has allowed me the opportunity in my old age, to be right, more often than I am wrong, through this simple filtering process. Yes, I enjoy being right, and try to be right as often as possible, but I have no aversion to admitting I am wrong and adopting any new viewpoints.

Not true. There are things I like and respect in just about everyone who participates here. Even the ones that call me a dumb redneck and insult my entire existence in life, though I try to live by high principles.
