I very much abused my ears when younger. I sat in the loge - level with the monster PA speakers, which were about 30 feet away - for Led Zeppelin's Song Remains the Same Tour. I was deaf in my right ear for 5 days after that.
Years of band playing, usually with the drummer on my left has resulted in my left ear being worse than my right one - all those cymbal crashes.
Many years at the race track with loud cars zooming by for hours. Sometimes they hurt - specially the high-revving V6s.
More loud concerts than I can recount. Never started wearing ear plugs until a couple of years ago.
So now the tinnitus (ringing) is all the time, worse in my left ear than right. I did a hearing test and everything dropped off at 12.5kHz - it was about 14.5kHz 2 years ago. I started taking vitamin B12, might not help, but couldn't hurt, read some studies that said it might help. I hope I'm dead before the high threshold drops a lot lower.
So, how's your hearing?
