w regards to what people will play for....
if a band plays for "peanuts" at venues where myself and other musicians have been playing for a fair wage...that impacts us. so, yeah, i DO have a problem w that.
but other musicians w no other options to play in front of an audience who are willing to play for "peanuts" at open mics, swap meets, or even busking....hey, that doesn't bother me in the least. i'm glad they have an op to share their music.

as i've said before.....one of my favorite gigs is the two or three times every season that MERE MORTALS plays a large Farmer's Mkt gig in Columbia MO. our pay is what the vendors contribute (meats, bags of expensive coffee, produce, herbs, fresh baked breads, etc) and there's always a good haul in the tip jar.
best of all, there are always enthusiastic and appreciative listeners who fill the picnic tables by the "stage". life's good!
BREAD IS GREAT!
