That is exactly how I understand song writing. For me the key is to write it down as fast as I can before it blows away in the breeze...

You hit that nail on the head. I try to get it down as quickly as I can until I can puke it back up on a medium that can recreate it.
You have to watch it though, that pisses people off but mad.
And everyone wants to stick their hands in the fish tank to "pet the pretty goldfish". (I am a "fish petter" as well, but I try to keep it to myself unless someone asks me for "extra petting".. lol)
The only thing worse is when you are left to do what you have to do and come up with something good by yourself. The people you work with tend to become upset very quickly and I still have no idea why that is, the point is that YOU shouldn't really care at all. "It is what it is" and "the proof is in the pudding".
Every douche-bag in the known world wants to write everything by themselves and if you are successful, that's great. If not and you get injected into the works, it's a trap. The end up turning on you like you did something wrong.
To be ok/functional is perfect. To be good is frowned upon. To be truly inspired and productive is met with disbelief and outright loathing if not hatred.
I am a team player and if the team wins, so do I. But human nature is human nature and I am pretty well convinced that some things will never change. So you tread lightly and don't do as well as humanly possible, because it will make them hate your stinking guts like you personally killed their family.
Especially if someone has already cranked out a plethora of average or worse materials. The last thing you want to do is show them up, intentionally or accidentally. They won't forget it and you will receive bad treatment at their hands or worse.
You best have cab fare or your ass will be walking home.
Sorry Jahva, not looking to hijack..just venting like the little forlorn backbiting malcontent that I am...lol
"I've forgotten more music than I've ever written".
I don't care how you do it, but get that material down pronto. That sh*t is the stuff of your next CD release, you just don't know it yet.
The fact that the guy who was going to play with Jahva, bailed makes me a bit on the irritated side because it seems like such a waste.
