damn, grant....are you the last person on bandmix to have figured out that vinny, myself, and peg are all one and the same?????
If I were you, I'd have a nice Saraswati veena!
I really think you should go for playing jazz fusion a 12 string universal pedal steel guitar Planetguy! If that gets too confounding, then you can always change the tuning and say a prayer to Jesus that you'll end up sounding like these guys!

vinny, as it happens i've already made plans to come back in my next carnation (or is it a posie?) as a geeky, steel playing nerd.
fusion? yeah...that might be cool but to my ears....a steel, playing western swing and straight ahead jazz just sounds TOO good to waste time on any other endeavor.
as for universal tuning on a 12 string....it's all i can do to keep my little brainbox wrapped around C6 and "lap G" on my 6 string lap steels.
i do see the appeal of the combined (E9 and B6?) universal tuning but yee-ow, that's a lot to grok...esp when you start adding in all the pedals and knee levers.
thanks for taking us to church w the "sanctifyin' steel" videos. perfect for a sunday morning. i just wish those church goers weren't quite so staid and reserved.
here's some cool straight ahead stuff played on steel....
