We have Beto O'rourke , elected Congressman from El Paso. I met him a couple of times at some poetry readings... We had a few laughs.. He's actaully not a bad guy... His father was very prominent in the El Paso political scene

Dog, that's nice.
We don't need leaders that are good for a few laughs or that come from a long line of politicians.

I don't know anything about the guy so I can't say. However we are facing some serious threats from the outside,(north Korea), and from within.

We need leaders that are truly concerned for the voice of the people. I hope he fits in that category.

Well, he's not been jaded yet, is all I'm saying... He does make an effort to stay in tune with the community... Beyond that, I cant say...

Its a good thing I'm not a leader. I would be a diplomatic disaster, and trample over all the protocols. I would violate some civil rights... (I'm not convinced that were all equal...and I'd stomp out the people I would deem as idiots . I would read Darwin's laws out loud to all the evil, cold , Letter-of-the-law scientists, as I 'terminate" them permanently.

I would step up nuclear arms, and take out as much infrastructure in certain middle-eastern countries as possible.

The I would go have a bowl of cereal and read the Sunday Funnies

I think I said the same thing Dog... I don't know the guy either.

Since he does represent you, you have to be very careful... That you do.

As far as eating cereal, that sorta grosses me out. Sunday morning and I'm going out and BBQ some steak. 32 degrees and the propane is flowing again. :)

It is my personal opinion that corruption begins when a politician decides to run for office. At any level.

The sad part about that statement... Doesn't any one understand the words?...

TREMENDOUS PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY... TOLERANCE... and the end result, love and respect for your fellow man.

Some of my best friends are long gunners. Talking about MOAs and hundreds of yards, /meters. It's pretty impressive, they call their rifles 'tack drivers.' They use good glass and make long shots.

I get it. But I don't buy it.

We need folks that can shoot it out close up and personal. Gunfighters. So many snipers, so few gunfighters. IMHO we need more gunfighters.

Please forgive me - I have a bias against snipers - one had me in his sights and lost his nerve. He told us later why he didn't fire his scoped Draganov at me, "I might have missed!" That's right baby. And that would have been fatal! 8)

Who knows - there is some kind of war coming, how it will be fought? I don't know. I don't even know who the combatents are. But I know this - it won't be Civil War II. There are six or seven sides in this one.

I'm on the side of "leave me the hell alone!" Sadly, to obtain that happy state of being left alone - you have to be pretty darn tough. And I suppose it helps to be able to make the long shots...

Hey thats all cool Mike...
I guess most people don't understand the amount of thought that has to go behind a shot like this. Then the amount of physical ability. Here is an example. This guy has put a lot of effort into this.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emJ0RToUYGE

I'm just saying because this guy is showing skills far beyond pulling a trigger. The average person doesn't understand that.

Always remember... If you can hear the bullet... you ain't dead yet. :)

There's no more excuses. We all know that corruption is entrenched into both major parties to the point that both parties themselves are cancers on society. Operate and remove the cancers, or society will wither and die.

Hell, if you don't like the greens, then there's also the justice party (conservative ideals), the constitution party (libertarian ideals). ALL better than the current ones in charge.

Again.. you don't like it, vote against the corruption.

If at the next election (on any level), you vote democrat or republican, well then, at that point you will get what you deserve.

Sorry Kramer. What is your point? Are you finally waking up to all of this?

I've been pretty consistent on this message for at least the last 8 years of my life. I made a huge mistake in 2008 voting for a lying pile of excrement. That was the final lesson I needed to learn about 1 major party in the USA. That party is split into two camps that do nothing but pander to corporate amercian and the wealthy elite, and divert the collective attention of americans towards infighting and disagreement on hot-button issues. They cloud those issues to keep infighting alive. We all actually agree on far more than you might think, but they thrive on us being pitted against each other- and winning at all costs.

I sure as hell didn't make the same mistake in 2012.

If everyone would just vote for the person (not the party) that they thought was the best for the job, and also not based on their perceived ability to win, we wouldn't have any level of the problems we have today.

I'm doing my part. Why aren't you? People want to "win" so badly that they cannot see the ultimate long-term fail in their own choices. After 5 major POTUS elections in my adulthood, how can I be the only one who sees through the usual BS?

Arguments like "this is the most important election of our lifetimes, we cannot afford to let ____ take office, so you must vote for the other guy to defeat him...." are the most effective, and destructive arguments to freedom that you will ever hear.

Might as well be voting for Stalin to keep Hitler out of office, instead of voting for 3rd party Ghandi, right?

I was going to leave this alone.

You are very correct on many of your points.(except your little dig at me)

You have also posted some very liberal far radical left view points in the past. So be it. I am not going tit for tat with you or any one else.

People are MAYBE waking up to what is going on.

Government is ONLY the controlling authority in an effort to avoid anarchy... ALL the powers are derived from the true authority... US, you and me.

Now imagine... Cypris government was actually going STEAL outright from the bank accounts of it's citizens... Imagine that. It could happen here if the government becomes more important than the people.

Don't worry, the biggest problem that any one with the ambitions of A hitler or stallin face, here in America, is the 2nd amendment. It is probably the only thing that keeps most politicians in some form of check.

Now let me put this clear... The backlash is coming... We The People, own our government. IT IS NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Have I been doing my part? YEAH! I have been hammering my local REPUBLICAN NEW YORK STATE ASSEMBLYMAN. He disappeared when it came time to vote on this emergency gun grab act. Republicker... He is already looking for a new job. Our governor is next. Our own little personal hitler.
Once again a politician that has forgotten where his authority is derived from.

GET MY POINT YET.

Have a good night.

I'm not seeing where we disagree here. You live in the one state that might be worse than mine. None of our local, county, or state reps listen to any of us anymore (except the corporate donors). Here, the only representation is that of the insurance, big pharma, fracking/drilling, and other lobbies. The people are mute. We vote hitler out of office, but vote stalin in. Then we vote stalin out to get hitler back in. The game is rigged. 3rd parties are the ONLY option, and even two of those parties I would recommend avoiding (libertarian and constitution parties are corporate lapdogs). Green and Justice parties seem to want what is best for THE PEOPLE. Hence, my sig....

If the tyrants in Washington get their way they will sign on to UN laws that will take away our sovereignty and we will not have to worry about corruption. The whole world will be ruled by those corrupt dictators.

Then we will only have to fear liberty and freedom breaking out. But who wants that? :) :)

Liberalism
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I cut some sources since the list is so long. Go to the site to see thefull list of world wide liberal organizations and authors

Liberalism (from the Latin liberalis)[1] is a political philosophy or worldview founded on ideas of liberty, equality, and justice (including both legal justice and social justice).[2] Liberals espouse a wide array of views depending on their understanding of these principles, but generally they support ideas such as free and fair elections, civil rights, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, free trade, and private property.[3][4][5][6][7]

Liberalism first became a distinct political movement during the Age of Enlightenment, when it became popular among philosophers and economists in the Western world. Liberalism rejected the notions, common at the time, of hereditary privilege, state religion, absolute monarchy, and the Divine Right of Kings. The early liberal thinker John Locke is often credited with founding liberalism as a distinct philosophical tradition. Locke argued that each man has a natural right to life, liberty and property[8] and according to the social contract, governments must not violate these rights. Liberals opposed traditional conservatism and sought to replace absolutism in government with democracy and/or republicanism and the rule of law.

The revolutionaries in the American Revolution, the French Revolution and other liberal revolutions from that time used liberal philosophy to justify the armed overthrow of what they saw as tyrannical rule. The nineteenth century saw liberal governments established in nations across Europe, Spanish America, and North America.[9] In this period, the dominant ideological opponent of liberalism was classical conservatism.

During the twentieth century, liberal ideas spread even further, as liberal democracies found themselves on the winning side in both world wars. Liberalism also survived major ideological challenges from new opponents, such as fascism and communism. In Europe and North America, classical liberalism became less popular and gave way to social democracy[10] and social liberalism.[11][12] The meaning of the word "liberalism" also began to diverge in different parts of the world. According to the Encyclopedia Britannica, "In the United States liberalism is associated with the welfare-state policies of the New Deal program of the Democratic administration of Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt, whereas in Europe it is more commonly associated with a commitment to limited government and laissez-faire economic policies."[13]

Today, liberal political parties remain a political force with varying degrees of power and influence on all inhabited continents.

Isn’t it funny how the left always choose titles and names to portray the opposite of what they truly represent? Liberalism promotes the loss of freedom. Liberalism is freedom from freedom. One day “liberals” will understand that, after it is too late.

Now I hear that it is forbidden to children in the UK to have "Best Friends" They have been liberated. Now it is forbidden for children to hand out birthday party invitations in Maryland. That along with another list of things that children like to do, such as bringing treats to the whole class. They have been liberated by liberals.

I'll bet that these folks are feeling truly "liberated" these days.

so probably about 2% of the actual population would fit that classic definition of "liberalism" (and who here promotes "liberalism"??), yet nearly half the population is labelled as "libruls" in a slanderous manner. Why is that?

It could be that you look at things I type, call me a librul, and then jeff, glenn jump in and call me a "lubrul obummer lover" when it's clear from my political beliefs that I would easily fall under "social democracy".

All "isms" are pretty bad, and lead to what I think your cherry-picked quotes from the liberalism page summarize: Extremism. Too far left, or right, or up, or down is bad. TOO FAR is TOO FAR for any stance on a structure or philosophy. For instance, the reason communism isn't desirable is that it leans too far to the power of the state. Libertarian structure is too far into unchecked corporatism. Going too far on democrat or republican beliefs leads to their own extreme isms.

Whatever ism you are into isn't really clear, you just seem to be against everything- what are you FOR?

If you really want to know my platforms on social, financial, and state politics, just go read the green party platform. I don't agree with 100% of it, but I most certainly agree with it somewhere in the 95% area. That's as close as any platform I can expect.

The big difference also is that republicans and democrats are liars. It doesn't matter what platform they run on, their actions directly contradict their words. How the hell after 40+ years of lies from both parties can anyone honestly believe anything they say? How can you honestly believe that the corruption hasn't entirely killed the host? You can't. It's no longer believable on any level.

And now, go look up the green party report cards. Their actions MATCH their platform, to the word. They don't bend. At least you know what you will get when you elect one, not this crazy assed roulette wheel of corruption you get when you elect a R or D.

Gee Slacker...

The NY SAFE act. If you are another stupid New Yorker, allow us to pull the wool over your stupid eyes once again. SAFE ACT. This is going to make you SAFE.

I wrote about Syria using chemical weapons 9 months ago. I had many poke fun at me. Now the truth is coming forth. Why do I bring this up?

Because we have so many radical left tyrants promoting an agenda that is totally anti freedom.

The safe act is just designed to overcome the one thing that scares the heck out of conquering liberal radical leftist radicals...

There is more personal ammo and guns in the hands of law abiding citizens than any on the ground boots army... could ever hope to overcome. THAT INCLUDES THE UNITED NATIONS!!!!!!

N.Y. SAFE ACT. Sounds good to the average sheep.

Sheep get slaughtered... MMMMM... Leg of lamb with mint jelly
