I bought...nothing.

I am without any money.

But, I made a few chicken sandwiches with lettuce, Southwestern chipotle dressing, and a little hot sauce.

Hey it is March 6th, The Big Lebowski's (and ours) 15th Anniversary!

I guess we should do some kind of 15th Anniversary show this year or something.

Hmmm.

Im on jury duty this month, so far this week I havent been called in, got a gig the end of the month, hope I dont have to do a lock in that weekend, man that would suck.

People Ive talked too, had told me that I might have to just go and sit waiting to get called in, so I splurged and bought a couple of books.

I like rock books, so I picked up Red:Sammy Hager, No Regrets:Ace Frehley, Conversattions on Light and Shade:Jimmy Page.

For some reason I read Red first, to get the dirt on Hager, pretty good read if you like the nitty gritty on Van Halen.

In the evenings Ive been reading the Jimmy Page book, it is totally different than any rock autobiography that I have ever read. It tells no storys of women, drugs, excess that all the other tell alls tell. It sticks strictly to the music. If you are into that kind of thing I would recomend it. Lots of great info on getting sounds in the studio, that sort of thing. Ive probably read bits and pieces of it thru the years thru all of Pages Guitar World interviews, but its in one nice package. Page is my favorite guitarist, and he lives up to it in this book, he is humble in a way about his accomplishments. I dont think he bad mouths any other musicians in the book, which is odd, cause every book like this bad mouths someone.

I wont say anymore about it, but its a great read if you want to read about his ideas and thoughts on making and creating music, one of the best Ive ever read in that regard.

I guess Im saving Ace's book for last, at one time he would have been my favorite guitar player and I still hold his work in high regards, no matter how cheesy or campy you may think his playing is. Im sure it will be funny and Im sure there will be a lot of slamming Gene in that book, so it should be a good read also.

Like I said, Im on jury duty this month, and I bought these books to pass the time, but I may have to get some more books, cause by the time they call me in, I will have read these books!!!!

A month of jury duty egad! My condolences John. I guess us Texans have it easy we are on Jury duty for 1 week. Unless of course you get called for a lengthy trial!

Haley its federal court, my name may be why I get passed over, and thats fine, yea its for a month, I have to check in every day after 5 pm to see if Im needed, so far so good. One more day and I will have made it thru the first week without a call.

Maybe Im nuts, but I always enjoyed going to court and wouldnt mind doing a couple of trials as a juror. Kind of get a different perspective on things.

Anyway, I may have to get some more books to make the month!

John - try 'A Wizard A True Star - Todd RUndgren in the Studio' by Paul Myers.
http://www.amazon.com/Wizard-True-Star- ... d+rundgren

Not a lot of technical detail, but some interesting stuff concerning his work as a producer/engineer with other bands/artists.

I bought groceries yesterday in preparation for the incoming snowstorm.

lol Buy? I save my pennies because I have no other choice.

Rent, electric, car insurance, food, gas....every other penny is for that spectacular deal to complete my own PA so I don't have to be held hostage.

I have to laugh, I basically was given 2 older Fender chassis I am trying hard to repair so I can sell em off. Problem is they have issues so bad, they are basically out of my limited ability to repair.

(Pass the ranch dressing, chipotle sux lol)

I bought $30,000 worth of oil for delivery over the next 2 days. I hope I get paid.

I also bought 5 boxes of 3006. That's an hour of plinking Sunday, a hundred bucks of gas for the van, 3 Mcdonalds Angus burgers (1800 calories) and a partridge in a pear tree.
