Said person paid taxes that year equaling More than 90% of Americans make! Said person or persons worked and sacrificed 24, 7, 365. Now according to the current communist administration said person is rich and "needs to pay their fair share" do you see the irony here? Now for a moment lets reverse the situation. Say YOU were said person that paid 100K in taxes, not to mention that you made the sacrifices and CREATED 50 jobs. I am willing to BET folks that you KNOW WELL on this site make that much (200k) and claim well it is not going to affect me! LMFAO! Personally I can't wait for that mystical someone to get their tax bill!

The problem is that in 2000, we all paid around 27% (single) tax rate, rich or not.
Now there's so many loopholes and depending on your business, lower tax rates, that the same 300k today would likely be taxed around 17-20%, making his tax payment $60k ish.
My point was that we need everyone to pay an equal percentage. It's always been since the foundation of this country, been the based on the ideal that poor people can't fund a country, but society as a whole can. The rich need to pay more (and not whine about it), because the labors of society in the USA give them the unique opportunity to create that wealth, enjoy that security (while sending their slaves to fight their wars for them), a solid infrastructure (provided by labor), and everything else you claim to cherish. But you can buy a gigantic swath of land, build a mansion, have the luxuries of the time at your fingertips, and live your life to it's fullest. Don't worry, the labor will kep your business running and keep churning out quality work and products, and your poor will enlist and fight to protect your stash and way of life. All you need to do is cough up a little more than everyone else.
Apparently after the wealthiest in the country held a gun to the head of the public and robbed us of $13+ Trillion dollars, and then wasn't even held accountable, they figured why not start whining about having to pay taxes on it, and their other "usual" income.
Again, I say- look at the tax percentages on the wealthy throughout the history of this country. ONLY in the last 35 years has it gone down to astonsihingly low levels, and look at the effect it's had- schools, fire depts, police, judicial system, public lands, roads, prisons, etc.. all in disarray because SOMEONE isn't paying enough for it.
Johny Worker is still at his job.. paying HIS fair share, and struggling to put food on the table..
So here's a few direct questions:
Why shouldn't these guys who have the most cough up what was considered a FAIR percentage for 200+ years??
Why don't/won't/can't they pay even today's lower tax rates on financial transactions that yield profits?
Wouldn't you consider them traitors for threatening to leave the country and claim to seek citizenship elsewhere if the gubmt tries to "take their money"? The very country that enabled them to gain excess wealth?
What do you think about Amazon, Google, and many other corporate giants setting up corporate offices in Luxembourg, where businesses operate tax free, churning all their transactions thru there, and paying ZERO USA taxes on billions in profits?
