I do have a Washburn HB35 semihollow gtr from the late 70's when they were still made in Japan...great gtr. you can see it in action here in a short video:

..and i have a Washburn Bantam XB-600 6 string bass that is far and away the least expensive bass i own but definitely one of the best.
as for old Guild Starfire basses...they are highly coveted and much sought after. notable users include Jack Casidy (airplane, hot tuna), phil lesh (dead), chris hillman (byrds, burrito bros), hutch hutcherson (bonnie raitt) and a long list of others.
this is the second one i've owned and i can w/o hesitation say that they are total badass instruments.
