I can see the British influence thing. I would completely get rid of the harmonies and just have ONE voice, whether it's yours (and I've heard famous voices that are way more turdish than yours) or somebody else you prefer. Being out of phase makes it difficult to understand the lyrics, and if there's one thing I hate it's incomprehensible lyrics. I like the song, yeah it's quirky perhaps, but it's interesting, and it's got a lot of possibilities with cleaning up the vocals.

I am treading water in that clean environment from the get go, considering that "Bridgette" is more my style/sound.

AS for those vocals, WE spent 8 hours cleaning it up and redoing the balance in the vocals so that the harmony part(s) was equal to the rest.

As I said it was done, Monday night. Suddenly it's a week later and I get what seems to be the same version pre Monday's 8 hour adjustment.

I check my email to see if it could be a version mistake, no.

I think it was a "command decision", except someone else is in charge of my regiment and we know that is not the protocol. lol

This tune was discussed. I said that "I thought the low part was not enough to sustain the tune". We worked with it and it was improved enough that I was ready to "show the dog".

Next thing you know..

I don't know what it would sound like with the vocal blend you wanted but I don't think this version works.
The loss of the harmony takes away the feeling of melody with just the one low voice. imo. Makes it more monotone. Harmonies create depth and accents. You can decipher it in a few spots but... sounds like you expected more balance.
Everything else is fine as for performance instrument mix tech stuff. Over-all the quality sounded good in me headphones.
But it also sounds like it's been a struggle to get it this far...

This is more or less exactly how I feel.

Removing the harmony was like "gutting a starfish".

First of all Scott you can drop the innuendo. I think most people are smart enough to figure out who I am. Really, you couldn’t just say: “I don’t like it please pull it?” Nope man it’s always something personal, always some big drama.

Of course you will never hear me bitch at you, about my playing. I don’t give a rat’s ass how you mix it. It’s not perfect, but I have no problems standing by what I do. If the quality of the performance is directly dependant upon how much can be thrown at it afterwards, then it was lacking to begin with. It happens, get over yourself. Or just blame me, cool whatever gets you by.

No good deed goes unpunished. It’s my equipment we are using, it’s my time I’m spending, regardless of YOUR convenience it happens on MY schedule. So if it took a week to do, you are welcome. Your arrogance to actually bitch about how long anything I have done takes, is beyond astounding.

It’s my effort that gets every single song finished. If it doesn’t come out to your expectations I hardly need, or deserve some ignorant emotional crucifixion in my email. It’s unprofessional and doesn’t even make sense, as if I would sabotage my own work as well. Yet another huge blowup over something as trivial as a poor mix that we could have simply fixed, but it’s much more important to burn my good will instead. Working with you isn’t merely hard, it’s impossible.

I think it’s an excellent idea that we go our separate ways man. If either of us have a future at all in music, it’s certainly not together.

You have a copy of every song we did right? I want to know because I’ll be deleting our profiles on Soundclick and Reverbnation. It’s not out of spite, I just don’t want any association with yourself and any future derived from those efforts would be tenuous at best. I’m saying it here because I want it known as public record. Three months later I don’t to read about how I’m trying to screw you over by deleting our crap. So download them now, or not, they will be gone next Friday. Do your own profiles and put them up there, or whatever, I don’t care. It’s been fun man, good luck.

You could simply fix the mix - except you didn't.

Yikes, You guys ... need to kiss an make up... You have been great partners and you've cranked out some great material together. Scotty is having one of his panic attacks... Surely you both are on to that by now... Its what makes Scotty...Scotty... (Ever seen an African wild dog when its cornered? LOL!) And You, Lalong, Its very obvious that you put in the time , heart and spirit (I hear it on so many of the tracks you guys post).

I think you guys should just tough it out, get past it and work together more. But it might help to take a break form it for a few weeks... Curb the urge and spend time with your families instead...

Lalong - there is potential in that song, but if you read the comments here, it needs work.

Maybe you and Scott can no longer function as a team/partners - it happens. But partners are supposed to work together, from his comments you wouldn't listen to what he was suggesting be done with the song. When it's one person making all the decisions, then its no longer a partnership.

I can tell you in my own experience, george dumped a few tracks that I wasnt quite ready to let go... The guitar work on No Loss of will...Kinda took some dive there and we redid it...its just not the same... Happens all the time I think with music creation.
But to be fair, I dont think I could ever be both a musician AND and engineer. Its daunting... and communication is destined for entanglement.

We'd never heard of this song you released, and so we wouldnt really have known that a harmony was missing or the mix was different before hand.

Like I said, you guys have done great things together, and should just chill before you throw it all away.
