If I'm not mistaken, the New York Times and many other newspapers use Worpress
Joomla and Drupal are also options with a great community, I've been with both for about 12 years, alongside Wordpress.
Sorry to disagree. Dreamweaver isn't the best tool anymore. Even if it was, you would need first hand CSS experience to create anything worth viewing. Of course if you are a hand coder, then that and NVU (FREE) are the way to go.
The advantages of WordPress/Drupal/Joomla is that they all have FREE extensions for the novice to add.
Join the various support forums and ask about each there. You'll get better answers I feel.

fisherman bob wrote:Thanks for the info. The present program we're using has serious flaws. My partner does the editing on a Mac and I do the editing on a PC. When he gets the homepage looking good on a Mac it looks terrible on a PC and vice-versa. The techs at the hosting company can't figure/resolve the problem (or they don't want to bother). Part of our moving it involves hope the new web hosting company is a bit more responsive. I'm pretty much a computer illiterate. We've done one format this year and we'll try another one next year, no rush to get it "perfect." We're trying Wordpress next year. We've got all of December to build the website, work out the kinks, experiment, and then lauch the "new and improved version" (hopefully). This stuff is all new to me. Kind of a fun toy to play around with for now.

Go to the various software forums and ask around. I did some years a ago, served me well it did.
For every single computer, there are 10,000 gurus.
Be well, good luck.

But my webmaster has told me for years to do a blog on Wordpress that he could link to our site because it has the tools to make it easy for an ignoramus like me to figure out without having to read a manual. That way I can change the content daily without him having to change my website.
Hope that is helpful??

Tough looking at a screen with only messages to help. I've walked hundreds through just about everything.
There are plenty of freebies out there, with simple setup. The MAIN problem is that many are wary of people uploading music owing to music copyrights.
Hence they are problematic for a person without any true web design knowledge. Many allow for embedded flash, which will of course allow you to have a player in place. Trouble is, you'd have to know flash too.
In essence parking your songs is the problem for a newbie. Somewhere with a direct link.
The WEB loves RSS feeds. (At present). Joomla / Drupal / Wordpress have these as standard, just publish and its there, no coding needed and a great tool.
I would still however (Bob), sign up on all three forums of the above. Write a simple set of questions, and wait. They are all unpaid, so it will not be quick, but you'll find some information. They are good guys, all of them. OPEN SOURCE ROCKS.
Pardon the pun.
@Paper, No offense taken or given ~ Cheers.
