This is where I have a serious issue with the media in general, but with politics moreso...
What we have here is simply a person who is a piece of sh!t, a classless angry person, who obviously acts like a pile of sh!t likened to the radical and relatively minority status of whackos that plague the jerry springer show.
And yet, the video is edited down to display them at their absolute worst, and base an entire race/political movement on the actions of said piles of sh!t.
I happen to agree with the movement protesting for the jewish nation to leave gaza, and leave it alone, let them have their "state" and just let it go.
I don't agree with ANY extremism, so don't think for one moment that I connect with or validate the actions of that woman. (it was a woman, right?)..
But likening that group to ALL palenstinians? That's no different that blaming all blacks in america for the crimes of one. That's called racism where I come from. I hate that in this country, that open hatred and racism is perfectly acceptable (and often encouraged) against people in the middle east, when we take such huge steps to abolish racism in every other category.. it's hypocritical and conflicts with everything this country supposedly stands for.
I also believe the recent and ongoing bombing of gaza is extremism, and unnecessary. I also believe the assassination of the hamas leader who was lured under the guise of "peace talks" is atrotious and clearly violates international law.. (see quote and cite at the end of my post) we hung several nazis for the same actions. Israel is out of control lately, and needs to knock off the nonsense.
In any case, we as a country need to stop enabling extremism, and could do a lot ourselves to those ends. We engage in enough of it ourselves with drone strikes, to name just one of many atrocities we commit ourselves.
Israeli peace activist: Hamas leader Jabari killed amid talks on long-term truce
Gershon Baskin, who helped mediate between Israel and Hamas in the deal to release Gilad Shalit, says Israel made a mistake that will cost the lives of 'innocent people on both sides.'
Hours before Hamas strongman Ahmed Jabari was assassinated, he received the draft of a permanent truce agreement with Israel, which included mechanisms for maintaining the cease-fire in the case of a flare-up between Israel and the factions in the Gaza Strip. This, according to Israeli peace activist Gershon Baskin, who helped mediate between Israel and Hamas in the deal to release Gilad Shalit and has since then maintained a relationship with Hamas leaders.
Baskin told Haaretz on Thursday that senior officials in Israel knew about his contacts with Hamas and Egyptian intelligence aimed at formulating the permanent truce, but nevertheless approved the assassination.
“I think that they have made a strategic mistake," Baskin said, an error "which will cost the lives of quite a number of innocent people on both sides."
