We Luciferians play nice with everyone . . . just sayin'
thanks for the kind words vamp.
I'd like to say I wasn't always this level when discussing politics. There was a time, even here on this forum, that my passion and anger got the best of me- to the point that I had to leave the forums for a long time and let go of politics in general.
I took a few steps back and realized that almost every "fact" given to us, always had a counter-fact from someone else. Something as simple as whether or not GWB dodged the draft, or whether Obama has a birth certificate, becomes cloudy and argued.
Then someone turned me onto the real "free press", a collection of writers and sites that are sick of the BS in politics- think about it: journalists who are insterested in truth, justice, and the amercian way? Go figure! Most of them are like us unsigned musicians- making a horribly meager living (if you do it for a living) and just scraping by, but staying true to our convictions. So do they. Not always unbiased, but at least many of them provide factual citations to the truths, many cite the library of congress, us census results, actual documentation, public records, etc..
Fox news developed a very clever and misleading way to completely lie about something, mislead it's viewers, and yet have no "dog in the show" at the same time- it's brilliant. It's called "some people say"..
"Some people say that Obama tortured dogs when he was a kid"...
They can say that and have zero accountability, no sources, and yet now have spread an absolute LIE with no possibility of reprimand.
This is why we NEED truth in journalism.
factcheck.org is the truest site I've found- I've mentioned it several times here because it's widely considered the best source of verifiable facts on the internet. It's the mythbusters of politics.
AlterNet is another "progressive" site that cites facts with references in their articles. There are some OP/ED articles, but most of them are impassioned about a huge variety of not just politics, but health, sciences, education, etc.. There's a ton of great information there.
Anyways, I meant this post to be only a few sentences- what I wanted to say mostly is that I woke up one day and realized "my team" was no different than "your team".
Look at the platforms and ask the same questions of each:
Democrats- they have a platform, does any democrat actually live up to it?
Republicans - they have a platform, does any republican actually live up to it?
Libertarians - they have a platform, does any libertarian actually live up to it?
Greens - they have a platform, does any green actually live up to it?
Most politicians say one thing and do another. Only one party have I found the representatives to do exactly what their platform dictates, and where their individual records actually reflect the same things that come out their mouths. Only one party refuses to take any super-pac or corporate donations, and to-date not one member of that party has remotely bent or broken that rule.
Meanwhile all the other parties would have you all squabbling over guns, abortion, birth control, womens rights, and racism; while the world falls apart around you.
