I don't have a pay account because I am not searching for musicians for a project, but if I were, I suppose that paying so that I could contact others would be a good start.
If you want to get around that, Google Bandmix local musicians... then write to each one in your area that has contact information. But you have not posted any music... don't suppose you have heard that before on this forum. So why or how would anyone know your abilities? Certainly that would be a starting point for a serious musician, even if only for collaborating on the Internet.
I DO have some music up, you can find it under "Vidoes". It's just ONE song though. I have a few more songs I can play though (Like A Prayer by Madonna, Bad Romance by Lady Gaga, Don't Mean Nothing by Richard Marx, Live To Tell by Madonna) Of course, that's not helping much, since not a lot of guys like that kind of music or are familar with that kind of music. I don't have any knowledge of how to record. That video was recorded by my music teacher. Yes, I'm still taking lessons, but the lessons are more advanced, because I already took lessons to learn the basics as a kid.
Second, I'm not trying to reach the serious musicians who are eager to get out and perfom or the career minded musicians.
And again, sir, you are being extremely rude, and describing me as cheap just because I don't want to waste money on a site that itself isn't frequented by the type of musicians I'm trying to reach. And even free sites that I've tried in the past (Craigslist, and Baton Rouge Rocks) weren't all that great either. My request STILL attracted individuals who hated the pop and soft rock music style, and who were ALREADY pursuing a career in music or ALREADY busy in other bands.
Another thing I'm tired of is people thinking Google is the answer to everything. Talking to other people who share your music interests and getting feedback from other people can also be a useful way to learn about what's out there.
And also I do not want to write to just anyone on Bandmix who's in my area, because a LOT of the active musicians in my area play heavy metal, hard rock, and classic rock and are ALREADY in major bands and busy with other music projects. Also a lot of those musicians are stuck up as well. They will instantly bash my music and try to convince me to do what they do.
Due to that, I need help finding a better website. One where I can much more easily connect with likeable individuals closer to my age, and who like playing pop and soft rock music purely for enjoyment and are looking for good friends, and are not part of the active local music community.
