Jw is does matter where you place your pedals it effects how they sound. Guitar Player Mag (of which I am a long time subscriber) had an article. The way the pros say you are supposed to do it (and the way I have mine is) tuner, Wah, distortion or overdrive into the input. Modulation ( chorus, phaser, flanger, tremelo, harminizer, whammey, univibe) then Delay through the effects loop I made a snake for my pedal board that I leave rolled up and permanently attached.

Eddie was always experimenting with his gear basically he had the phase 90 into a fuzzface or overdrive pedal into the front end (input)

Thanks Haley, I put all of mine in front of the amp. Im gonna try that pedal in different positions in the chain and see where it sounds best.

The way it was today I punched the TS in front of it and it seemed to bring out the highs in the phase sound more than when I kicked the TS out. But it sounded pretty darn good to me, but I dont have the finesse you do from your videos! Gotta work on that!

My trash guy is an independent contractor, I always tip him for Christmas.

I have had nothing but trouble to out right bullshit with fudx locally.

I now specify UPS ... or I don't order.

Fudx put a sticker on my back door claiming they could not find my house to make a delivery.
F@#king idiots.

Jw, I have learned a lot from you as well! I don't know if you noticed in the video but I still use that 20 milli-second delay between sides to thicken my sound! You taught me that! 8)

I can imagine that happening. Especially if you know that that FedEx driver/package deliverer was the same one that delivered your last package. New drivers are often in areas they are unfamiliar with. They read turn by turns that are often incorrect and doesn't know when to identify the difference. I've spent lots of time on a single package to determine the right house because the address on the package was 1572 Such'n Such Court. The numbers (in a court) could easily be seen. Company records and GPS confirmed it was good. Looking up the customers phone #, talking to the customer, it was1672 Such'n Such Ct. To me it is important that a customer get that package as ordered on schedule, whether it is a PRS, a Foot switch, or an expireable prescription of insulin. I have also been on many streets, roads, courts, loops and what not that are all new to me even though I have an extensive driving record in Central Ohio. I make no more money from the stop if it is 10 100 lb. packages that takes me 45 minutes to find the address because the address sequence of the building is physically out of sync than if it is just an envelope to be delivered next door from my last stop. Services like FedEx, UPS, or your trash service I cannot see being a bad value unless your service provider just doesn't have work ethic. I don't mean to hijack, sorry, but I've alredy posted this previous message. This is an endendem to that end... I quit my job yesterday. I was working for an independent contractor that does home delivery. Took two months to get signed on. Took four months to figure out that a man can't make money at $1.32 per delivery if every delivery is predestined Fncked up using FedEx computer generated turn by turns and incomplete maps and aging scanners. The boss got real smart mouthed with me about "These excuses..." I told him if it weren't for the health insurance, I'd Quit. He said What health insurance? Exactly! I have $30. in my bank account two weeks from Christmas. I'm not fearing. When FedEx has you pack your last package deep in the truck and your first stop is next door to you last and the whole rout is just a futile attempt at de-Fnking, you have to drive like an idiot to make up for lost time. I would prefer to be alive come Christmas. I have completed my routs diligently without any damage to any property or had so much as a flat tire. I have a clean driving record. I plan to keep it that way. In the past week, they've increased my work load 40%. It is Christmas and that is expected. I could handle that. I may have worn a little paint off the corners of that truck I was driving, running like a Quarterback in the pocket. I have taken the time to buy a sandwich to eat while I drive 4 times in 4 months. I'm not making any more excuses.

Funny Haley, thats an old Van Halen trick, well putting a dry guitar to one side and then panning the reverb to the other side. Ted Templeton did that album, he also did the Montrose album and used the same trick there.

Both of those albums just had the right chemistry between the bands and the production.

But thanks for the props

Thanks George, but have you been working on that pentatonic blues scale?

I think if you really dig into that and learn how to use it on you guys songs, you will be suprised!

Not picking at you, just hoping to encourage you.

I do a lot of scales and try to grow from that in different directions, but I don't have the complete theory down. I just live my life from day to day. And I wouldn't have it any other way! Whether I'm 12 or 64, spend my time like there won't be no more!

That's right then you play that same minor
pentatonic scale in the major mode and you
can just about play lead against anything from
country to rock to jazz, using the same scale
steps in different positions.

I'll look into that today Lynard. That may be an issue I'm missing. I don't understand it yet, but your words give me something to look at. WHOOAAHH!

Arent Flats the Black Keys?

LOL

As far as solos go, Ive shared this before but you have 12 notes to play and basically 9 of those are in key at any given time, so if you hit the wrong fret everynow and then, just move one fret one way or the other, people will think you are a genius for playing in the mylidian mode! LOL

Absolutely ...
The " first position " in B is now the basis for the leads I do on
SO MANY MILES

Pulled up the info and printed the positions right after we discussed it.

To be exact if your were playing your blues scale
in the key of G, A# would be the 2nd note in the scale
therefore the 1st note in the 2nd mode of the G pentatonic
minor scale. If you took this 2nd mode of the G minor scale
and started it on G instead of A#, you would have the
1st mode of the pentatonic major scale, a more
sweet sound Dickie Betts and numerous country artists
play out of this scale.
