Somethings gotta be done before the corporations own America.

It may be too late. [/b]

You may be on to something here... Not the overseas/tax... but the idea of penalizing them for the use of overseas labor. Question is: How? What I think should happen, is that they should tack on the actual difference in pay rate on the employer. That is. if they hire a guy to work 40 cents an hour, (and the same job would pay 5.40 an hour in America... ) then tack on 5.00 per each hour as the tax. In other words, disallow any benefit whatsoever for hiring a guy overseas. Then, the employer would have no further incentive to hire overseas...and may as well hire the home-boys instead...

You know Dog, Boeing was going to build a new plant in SC. They were going to put on another 2000 union jobs in Seattle. The union complained, big gov. stepped in under the NLRB. I wouldn't blame Boeing if they just moved their whole company to a country that supports business. PUT ALL THOSE FLOCKING PEOPLE OUT OF WORK.

On the other side I have to congratulate the people that have led you to believe this tax the rich, take all their property away scheme. ITS WORKING AND TOO MANY ARE BELIEVING IT.

O.K. rule one, business provides real goods and services. Cost competitive.
Rule two, government, wants people to believe they are providing services, doesn't matter if they are cost competitive.

Bad businesses go under, big government just raises taxes.
Well the governmental cry is raise taxes any way possible, go after corporations wealthy people, make them pay yeah. Wait till you see the depression that will follow because people are out of work because these evil corps, such as FRIENDL'YS that just filed chapter 11, are no longer able to give anyone a JOB.

By the way Peanut butter is up 47 % this year, due to higher costs and government meddling. Think about it.

I do not believe that taxing the rich is any answer at all. But I do believe that shifting the labor to overseas is a huge bone in the ass to you and me. The logic of 'Big Govt meddling' as the blame to justify that behavior by the corps is flawed... a frigging smoke-screen... since the behavior of shifting the labor hasn't stopped the government at all, from meddling.

I work for a very huge corp and I can vouge for how greedy most executives are. They buy cheap labor... The savings goes into their pockets as bonuses...not as R & D, not employee raises or Job programs, Or charities, etc.

Last year, the mother f**ckers who I work for wouldn't even spring $500.00 for an employee Xmas party. My Partner and I wound up throwing a party out of our own pockets.

I do not equate "Rich people" with corporations, since No individual person can possibly match the magnitude of wealth that a corporation can generate. I do think that taxing the sh*t out of Corporate "Officers" might get things on track. IF, as a CEO, you want to draw 30 million dollars salary out of the Company that generates 40 million, than I think you should take it up the ass like a prison-bitch and pay serious taxes... On the other hand, if you are reasonable, i.e 3 million out of the 40m rev, then you should not get penalized...

I also think That ANYBODY that can build a hospital or school or whatever, and fund its operation as a charitable act...simply should be exempt from being taxed, since the charity is profoundly significant and contributes to the community at large on a big scale. Thus, bonafide philanthropists should not be taxed...period.

FINALLY... Get f**king rid of lobbyists... Kill em, do whatever... Nobody should have a right to buy favores (or as Blues Edge put it, purchase legislation) . That IS quite possibly the Silver bullet that has killed our capitalism.

Dog, you don't like it QUIT!
As far as bonuses going into their pockets, thats why they were hired, because they are the most competitive f**k your company could find,
As far as Christmas parties, Kudos to you. But why should any business be responsible for the cost of a party. Their main concern is making a profit and if you are all caught up in the Christmas spirit, they are all caught up in turning a profit so you have a JOB. Sucks but that is the way it is.

Cheap labor,,, You have to turn a profit. DOES ANYONE HERE WORK FOR FREE?!!!!! I can't believe the mass of stupid people miss this basic, simple POINT!

YES,we have separation of church and state, and even those lines get blurred, and we definitely need separation of business and state. BUT IT'S A TWO WAY STREET. Just ask all the people hoping for a good job with a good company in S.C. Get rid of overbearing lobbies, and overbearing regulations and taxes.

Yeah you dumb ass, why are you still working for a company that treats their employees like crap. Don't you have the balls to stand up for yourself,or are you gonna be like every other sniveling little worker that wants a union or the government to step in.

Good companies know they NEED good employees to remain competitive. Sorry you got your ass stuck in a lose, lose situation.

Now reach down betwixt your legs, and double check that you still have two, and go out and change your situation.
STOP COUNTING ON SOME OTHER ENTITY. But stop passing this crap on to me.
Now go find a better position and with any luck that company will fail and be gone. YOU WON'T.

Might be the best thing that ever happened to you!!!!! You don't sound happy at all. What does it take to light a fire under your butt. YOUR AVATAR SUCKS, BUT NOW I REALIZE IT'S FITTING.

I just get tired of this crap. Blaming someone else for all your own problems.

This is one that is being passed right on down the line from your president to the janitor at the school district.

Doesn't any one have any balls to accept their own personal responsibility?

God save us all!

Sorry Dog, we think completely differently, I'll explain.

Thirteen years ago, I was working for another oil company. I was bringing home 800 dollars a week. I was supporting our local church with $80, suddenly it was only $50. When I came home one night and the electric was turned off because we were trying to meet the tax bill, I knew it wasn't working.

Well the union contract was up that year and some of the larger company unions in the oil biz had been successful in negotiating contracts that kept up with the cost of living. Not so with us. Our company insisted on a 50 cent raise. Being a "sweet heart union" it was basically rammed down our throats.

Now mind you a 20 dollar a week raise was not going to compensate $6000 a year property taxes going to $9000 in just 4 short years. That doesn't include every other cost being passed on to me. Do you know what I did?

I used every vacation day, that summer, scraping every penny I could beg ,borrow, and steal to buy a 20 grand service van, and twenty grand in parts and tools, and every penny left over into advertising and paying off government interference. NO JOB. NO ESTABLISHED INCOME. NO GUARANTEES WHATSOEVER. NO HEALTH COVERAGE. NO NOTHING. And I quit my JAY OH BEE. job. You learn fast. 2 mortgage,2 insurance, 2 expenses, and before long you realize you have to make 6 grand to break even. AH those were the easy days. SMILE.

See why we don't think alike. You keep sucking up to some corp, but at least they give someone like you a job. Put them out of biz, that means you also, and all that lost tax revenue they keep saying you and I don't pay.HA HA HA. NOT FUNNY.

Good luck Dog, still hate that avatar.

I think income tax should get flatter as incomes become more equal and more progressive as incomes become more unequal. Then, maybe we''ll see some of that trickle-down money the neo-con greedheads are always telling us about.
And let's have a LIVING WAGE. A real Cost-Of-Living-Allowance that EVERYONE gets, whether they are employed or not. f**k the minimum wage. And f**k welfare. You cannot really live on either.
