I wouldn't blame Boeing if they just moved their whole company to a country that supports business. PUT ALL THOSE FLOCKING PEOPLE OUT OF WORK.
On the other side I have to congratulate the people that have led you to believe this tax the rich, take all their property away scheme. ITS WORKING AND TOO MANY ARE BELIEVING IT.
O.K. rule one, business provides real goods and services. Cost competitive.
Rule two, government, wants people to believe they are providing services, doesn't matter if they are cost competitive.
Bad businesses go under, big government just raises taxes.
Well the governmental cry is raise taxes any way possible, go after corporations wealthy people, make them pay yeah. Wait till you see the depression that will follow because people are out of work because these evil corps, such as FRIENDL'YS that just filed chapter 11, are no longer able to give anyone a JOB.
By the way Peanut butter is up 47 % this year, due to higher costs and government meddling. Think about it.
I do not believe that taxing the rich is any answer at all. But I do believe that shifting the labor to overseas is a huge bone in the ass to you and me. The logic of 'Big Govt meddling' as the blame to justify that behavior by the corps is flawed... a frigging smoke-screen... since the behavior of shifting the labor hasn't stopped the government at all, from meddling.
I work for a very huge corp and I can vouge for how greedy most executives are. They buy cheap labor... The savings goes into their pockets as bonuses...not as R & D, not employee raises or Job programs, Or charities, etc.
Last year, the mother f**ckers who I work for wouldn't even spring $500.00 for an employee Xmas party. My Partner and I wound up throwing a party out of our own pockets.
I do not equate "Rich people" with corporations, since No individual person can possibly match the magnitude of wealth that a corporation can generate. I do think that taxing the sh*t out of Corporate "Officers" might get things on track. IF, as a CEO, you want to draw 30 million dollars salary out of the Company that generates 40 million, than I think you should take it up the ass like a prison-bitch and pay serious taxes... On the other hand, if you are reasonable, i.e 3 million out of the 40m rev, then you should not get penalized...
I also think That ANYBODY that can build a hospital or school or whatever, and fund its operation as a charitable act...simply should be exempt from being taxed, since the charity is profoundly significant and contributes to the community at large on a big scale. Thus, bonafide philanthropists should not be taxed...period.
FINALLY... Get f**king rid of lobbyists... Kill em, do whatever...
Nobody should have a right to buy favores (or as Blues Edge put it, purchase legislation) . That IS quite possibly the Silver bullet that has killed our capitalism.
