There you go again! Making my point for me .I would never say the oil barons are responsible. What I was saying is that they're irresponsible. Is that clear? Maybe the enormous taxes we pay for diesel fuel doesn't go to infrastructure (police, teachers, firefighters). Is that your point. Hmmm. The America I grew up in, I can remember the price of gas to be 8 cents a gallon. Diesel has less processing done to it.Therefore it should be cheaper. It's not, why, taxes, targeted at a specific industry. Diesel is the sludge of the crude oil we buy by the barrel. Why is it more per gallon? I got it wrong? I'm not even debating a sin tax, like a pack of cigarettes should cost about 85 cents. No, they're about $5.30 for Marlboro's (I don't smoke those). The difference in what we pay proportionately Responsible share, depends on how much money you have to lobby with. What is wrong with a universally proportionate tax, everyone pays their fair share. Because they're so stinking rich, we're afraid to offend them.
