Hey Sans, me again. I just spent the last 2 hours with my son on the internet looking up ci's vs. hp rating. I could encourage you to do the same.No matter to me, but I just wanted to give you the short story of what I had, which was no problem with take off. '68 Impala, factory with a 396. Blown rings, I replaced it with a small block--- a 302 Z28 (w/ camel hump 202s). That engine produced more horse power than Any other Production line engine. The ultimate sleeper engine ,yet it still bolted to a 400 Turbo trany, (didn't know until I tried it), with the rest of the drive train which was built for the 396, which was the 12 bolt Posi rear-end. The Only problem I had with take off was going back to the take off site to pick up my exhaust pipes.
