Oh wow. I love that voice. I think you could give Sara Deva a run for her money.
I have been in the same position before and seen the band choose someone that alot of people thought were not as good as the other choices (Me, and a few others). It isn't a nice feeling especially when they try to justify their descision by knocking you down a few pegs. Then when there is slim pickings, it really does bug you. Maybe some people just have a subconcious fear of succeeding. Let THEM fail, I say. You'll get what you deserve somewhere along the line, then it will all be worth it.
But anyways, love the voice, hun.

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Wow!! Talk about make my day!!

Okay - first, I guess I need to correct myself.... I was speaking with my bro last night (the one that plays bass in Casey's band) - He said that I was mixed up and he didn't call me an "Average American Idol" singer - He called me an "Average Karaoke" singer ---- (which to me, is even worse!!) Whatever!!

Thanks for the compliment wild_eyed_drummer!! Yeah, it may be a waste of my talent -- but, as I was saying earlier on in this thread - I haven't been active in a band in a while, and I was just trying to get into something in this God forsaken place....BFE!! I currently collaborate online and that's okay and all - but I really miss being out there and performing - it's my passion - my dream - my life -- I just feel so "incomplete" - ya know?

Good Mornin' muzicmage :D -- No, I don't have a completed CD - the only CD I have ever completed / recorded in a studio was a demo for the last band I was in - Miss Behavin' -- They are all covers.
I have done 4 original tunes total -- all with different ppl / groups -
Please check out my Myspace or Meez page - I have 2 of them posted on those sites
First one is the most current one ... a collaboration I did via the net with a gentleman in spain (MG71 project) - the name of the song is "Starting Over" and is the main player song on both pages -- both start automatically when you open my page --
I have a podcast from my garageband site that is posted on both pages - the title of the song is "Screamin' Eagle" (Twilight Blue).
I also have a third player on both pages that has clips from the demo CD we made with the covers from the band Miss Behavin'!

www.meez.com/ladyrocker

I have two other originals that I did when I was with a band called "Wicked Sister" -- One's entitled "My Misery" and "One Step Ahead" - Lyrics by me -- music by the band -- these are old crappy recordings that I have on cassette tape - I recorded them by dubbing my vox in at my house -- on my dining room table  !
BUT - I have notebooks upon notebooks full of lyrics and have been trying to connect with a group that's going in the same direction that I want to go -- most ppl I've jammed with are phenominal musicians - but for them it's a hobby.... :?
What did you have in mind???

Thanks Jon I will do my best to pop up there to see you!! It would be nice to meet ya in person! :D I've always wanted to go to NY -- had the opportunity once! An Agent was going to fly me and my band (Miss Behavin') out for a weekend of recording and to play a one night show at some club he could hook us up in.... but the "hobby" guys didn't want to go  -- How far do you live from Like NY City or what city do you live close to?? I've been through NY a couple times when I was a kid - I have an uncle in Maine.... my dad used to take us on long scenic trips!!

TY Captain Scott - I sing Pat Benatar and Melissa Etheridge both - also Joan Jett and Beth Hart -- But Pat and Joan were my influences in wanting to have that "gruff" female voice as a kid.....I guess you can tell :D 8) !!
I wished I lived in New Jersey or closer -- or close to ANYBODY that I would be able to jam with!!! It would be a good show!! Any band I've ever been in has had a very solid fan base -- I was booked every weekend for 5 yrs solid -- and in every town we ever played - there was a group of ppl that would follow us wherever we went -- We never played to an empty bar -- Usually packed to the gills!! Alot of it has to do with the variety of the music I'm able to sing because of my wide vocal range and my love for diversified music!! Our set list consisted of Rock & Roll, Blues and Alternative music -- Examples -- Pat Benatar, Joan Jett, Melissa Ehteridge, Van Halen, AC/DC, BB King, Tracy Chapman, Bush, Green Day, Collective Soul, Stevie Ray Vahgn (sp?), Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Alanis Morrisette, Kiss, Alice In Chains, Ted Nugent, Offspring, Days of the New... etc., etc.....

TY Therian Gray -- Let me tell ya -- it made my mornin' to come on here and find all these great comments!!

Hugs, Kisses, Love & Rock n Roll to all!! :D 8)

I live in Salamanca,55 miles south of Buffalo on the Seneca indian reservation. No,I'm not Seneca,I'm Cherokee..well part of me :) So,I'm good ways from NYC.I played for a local classic rock group called EXIT 20,after the exit I live off(how original). You can check my old group by going to www.oleanlife.com and clicking onto bands and then look for Exit 20 and click on.You can hear my drumming from two original tunes we have on our site(Dance to the Music and Nothin to Lose).Of course I'm no longer part of the website so you won't see any pics since they took me off.I had a very brief stint in Nashville in January of this year trying to hook up with an independent country rock artist and then ended up here in Newberry.I had offers from Three Dog Night and Kansas back in the early 80's to audition but never followed through.Didn't feel I was ready for that step.I had a band in Florida back in 1997 that recorded a cd going almost national. We were called Southern Cross with a southern pop sound.I'll play almost any style just for the pure enjoyment of performing but do limit myself such as reggae, old country, rap, you get my drift?I'm mostly into rock style, fast paced.I own a 6 piece Pulse Pro kit with a 6 piece Zildgian cymbal set and much hardware.I really enjoy listening to the oldies station in Newberry(WNBY).BTW,you do have an awesome voice and the whole package deal :D

I still don't understand how you "ended up" in Newberry -- this is definitely not the place to end up at!!
Mr. Casey Cook was fired from the radio station the other day! Did you know that?? I don't know what he did -- but he's a goner!!

Is that your email address Alan?? Or should it be @yahoo.com???

My backup to music is the hospitality industry.Since I didn't make it in Nashville, had to get back to "work".I applied for several seasonal campgrounds in New York,Tennessee and Michigan and this was the one that met my criteria. Also I'm a native Michigander(born in Petoskey, raised in Alpena).Too bad for Casey...Maybe he'll get with WNBY but until his next radio gig he better be playing out with the band alot.Did you notice that even in my small community there are lots of bands??We have a pretty good rotation of venues once you get locked in.We were booked every weekend taking days off when we wanted too.Made $100.00/each band member. We were 4 piece group.I wanted to take us up into Buffalo and over to Rochester but when I talked travelling I found out my bandmates were also "hobby" players.

Ain't that just a kick!! :? Yeah, I did notice there were alot of bands listed!! It used to be that way around here for awhile when "The Tumble Inn" was open out on Eckerman corners -- But it literally "Tumbled In" a few years ago and the corner is vacant -- you would never know one of the kewlest bars in the U.P. once stood there!!
Ever here of it?? Chris Doliber (bassist) & Maxine Petrucci (guitarist) of "MADAM X" - along with her sister Roxy Petrucci (drummer) of MADAM X -- AND VIXEN - owned it through the 90's -- Had alot of kewl concerts there - and bands from all over the place!! The scene was pretty hoppin around here when they were around -- everyone figurin' since they had been big in the industry -- they could possibly be a gateway to havin' a shot at it!! Me included  --

I'll have to contact you muzicmage.... and do some chattin'!! It might be a few days though! I've entered a talent contest -- it's for the whole U.P. of Michigan -- "U.P. Talent Contest" -- The preliminaries are held on Monday ... the finals are Friday the 26th -- I have alot of practining to do -- cuz it sucks for me to get up on stage without a band -- I have to sing with a karaoke CD and I've been juggling a few songs and need to narrow down one and focus on it!! So, more than likely it will be after Monday before you hear from me -- If I get a chance - I'll contact you earlier.... but, just to let you know!! :D

I swear some evil forces are working against me!!

Thanks! :)

Sometimes these things happen -- and it is very frustrating sometimes!

BUT - I do believe that everything happens for a reason -- so, there's got to be some reason - (that at the moment I don't understand or have no way of knowing) - that God is keeping me away from this competition!! :?
