And I detest country music..really.
Not sure what you were listening to, but my daughter's genre is not country....it's pop/alternative, although a couple of her songs could be considered "country-pop cross-over" - although that wasn't intentional.
But I tried to be honest with you and somewhat positive.
EPIC FAIL.
Bitterness? LOL I am always bitter until I am done doing what I am to do.
I am bitter on the way up. I am bitter as I wait to play. I am bitter halfway through. I am bitter wheeling and dealing with scum owners. I am bitter as I negotiate with sound guys who look like they'd rather be drinking it up. I'm bitter as my stomach churns AGAIN!
I sit on it, because I know no one wants to hear it.
BUT when you act the fool, you get the deluge.
It's just like Nickelodeon, lady. DO NOT PULL THE ROPE OR STAND ON THE GREEN X.
Do I need a hug?
Do you need a left jab? lol
Oh and remember she only wants constructive criticisms (reads no negative remarks).
Maam, I sincerely hope your pride and joy does well in Music but it's filled with ups and downs.
Are you sure you and she can handle the bad as well as the good?
It takes a thick skin and not just your outer adipose layering.
If that was the case, we'd have plenty of singing walrus.
Resist pulling the rope, lady. You get much more with sugar than you ever will with vinegar
Think what you want, Capt, because you've lost your credibility as an "expert" as far as I'm concerned. Evidently I pushed your button by simplying titling my thread the way I did. I assumed any criticism was negative....whether constructive or otherwise. It's certainly the opposite of a compliment....so I was, in fact, interested in both. BUT not interested in pure hatefulness just for the sake of it.
For the record, my daughter has experienced a ton of criticism in her brief career and handles it far better than I do. This is a new solo project for her after spending the past 2.5 years in a tribute band that she started at age 13. That band released 2 albums and had more critics than fans, but still managed over 1 million hits on myspace, a video aired on MTV's TRL, and featured on ABC's Nightline, People Magazine, Cosmo Girl and other publications, including internationally.
Her new manager/producer is also her bass player and has played in two bands signed with major labels in the first half of this decade, and served as tour manager for another successful rock band. He's more excited about working with Chandler than with ANY of previous projects.
Sorry you brought out the "inner momma tiger". Yes, I'm proud of my daughter, but this is her chosen career path....not mine. I'm just trying to help and be supportive.
