Craig man, I am not going to blow smoke up your ego . recording ,mix , everything sounds great.
This is all true. Now may I critique you in a manner that is more at the level I know you play at? In other words I will do this at a level that is at the top of the scale.
1. vocals on pitch , lack conviction. YOU HAVE not rehearsed this enough. I know how you sing and even though this a tough type of song to sing you need to make a conviction about how to approach it. Sucks cause either it sounds to strong or to sappy. Try again, ,, youll get it.
2.Song needs to be strengthened, Idea is tight, just a few words are weak.
3.Hope your wife has a happy birthday and that you fulfill her every wish.

Pretty keen observation on your part Glen!

It's not really rehearsing it... although, yes, I wrote the lyrics and recorded the song on the same day, so I only had about 3 or 4 hours to do the whole thing... write it, record the music, and sing it.

The bigger problem, is that I misplaced my mic stand, and I had previously taped my microphone on a sheet music stand  I did this, because then I can hear myself AND the keyboard, through headphones when I am writing songs. But since it was already taped onto that stand, I left it like that, whereas I should take the mic and hold it, so I can stand up to sing. Instead, it is LEANED against the keyboard to get to me when writing music, but it is not a proper boom stand, so it doesn't get all the way to me. I have to bend half-way over the keyboard to sing CLOSE to the mic. Singing while half doubled-over is NOT ideal, as it constricts the diaphram. I have a pretty solid voice, so I was able to get through the song that way anyway, whereas, I think many singers would have a difficult time sounding decent, in that position.

LOL :)

That's actually not so complicated. All she really asks of me, is to spend TIME with her, and not get so wrapped up in music, or internet discussions, that I forget to give her some attention.

But you sly dog... you meant something else didn't you?

See how smart you are,,,, you figered it out
This sort of material can be extremely difficult to do,and write to make it work.
I'll give you much credit because I would butcher this 8 bars in ,and evrytime I get the urge to attempt a song like this......FOGEDABOUTIT.
