He's too honest.

Too factual, for American tastes.

American society is STILL (Susan Boyle not withstanding) IMAGE CONSCIOUS!

We think the President is supposed to LOOK like a cowboy, or some tall tough steely eyed icon of strength.... Without that, he has to be handsome, so the ladies will vote for him.

We've brought it on ourselves.

Hollywood rules here.

Also, a HUGE problem for him, is... Who are the deep pockets to fund him? He is NOT a friend to wall street, or big bankers, or the power brokers who own the banks that control the Federal Reserve.

In fairness though, he is a little bit of an extremist. Too many interests are tied up in our military conflicts, our monetary pay-offs to other countries. He's like a strict Libertarian, and would have us pulling our troops out of almost everywhere!

On one extreme, there are politicians who want us committed everywhere, and on the other, are people like Ron Paul who would have us never again, be the world's policeman.

Most Americans, I believe, are more in the middle. They understand certain commitments and oppose others.

I want Ron Paul to come over here and run for PM! i think his calm words of common sense and wisdom are about as far removed from any possible use for the word extreme as you can get.. sorry man

Extreme, as opposed to "the current norm".

Not "extreme" like CRAZY or INSANE.

If I am remembering correctly, he would also put us back on the Gold Standard, and many other similar things.

In other words, he would alter a HUGE percentage of how our country functions, it's legal and military commitments, treaties, and on and on.

It's too much at one time... there are too many competing interests, to make this possible, without virtually an armed dictatorship.

Choose a few issues... Campaign finance reform... a flat tax.

Get those through, then work on the next few issues.

It's too much to change at one time, and not even a realistic possibility.

Americans "DO" want change, but too much at one time, is difficult to swallow, and again... not even possible with all the competing interests.

I think most Americans did not even anticipate, that similarly, President Obama, would seek THAT MUCH change, that fast. And even with a filibuster-proof majority in Congress, you can see, that Obama has not been able to do 1/5th of what he is TRYING to do.

I'm gonna change my name to Philly Buster...has a nice ring to it, doncha think?

Drastic change is what's necessary, people are to comfy in their lives and are scared i understand that, it's going the same way same here, be we dont have Ron Paul, you guys had a choice and blew it in my opinion, i'm not being mean, just saying that just because as i think as you basically said people are scared things might change, soldiers are dying, INNOCENT civilians are dying in the middle east, your borrowing more money from countries like china, increasing the national debt and inflation, social paranoia, media perpetuated xenophobia, and countless other things, are you really sleeping better at night with THAT knowledge than you would about revolutionising the democratic process, your education system, your foreign policies, the welfare system etc.. and wondering if it will work?
