Homosexuals can become Christians just as easily as any one of us. Their life choices are between them and God.

So, if they accept god & Jesus into thier hearts, they won't BE homosexuals any longer? Is that where we're going. here? Cuz we've established that god "hates" homosexuality.

I can't speak for them. They may or may not want to continue that life-style.

Wrong! God hates the SIN and he hates the choice that they've made, but he doesn't hate the people themselves!

Yeah, I saw that & fixed it, but you caught me out. Look again. It says "homosexuality."

I'm still wondering if a guy can be a homosexual & simultaneously be a "saved" christian, though, since his acts are an abomination, although he was born that way...you gotta admit, it IS an interesting question.

Well, that's another argument that I don't want to get into. Especially not on Bandmix.com

People can fight about the existence of God or the non existence of God until Hell freezes over. Or argue if there is or isn't a hell, for that matter.
I for one believe in God, and only in one God, and that there is only one way to that God.
Whether anyone else believes, that is his or her choice. But don't pick on Christians. Just not a smart move, if their God is real, He is the only God that is real After all, you do not have that answer.
The Muslims say there is only one way to their god. The Christians say there is only one way to their God. Every religion on the face of the earth says they only have the truth.
The atheist is the most to be pitied of all. He wastes his time trying to disprove the "nothing" that someone else believes in.
Go figure?

I'm not picking on anyone, just asking questions.
I mean, either there IS that state of grace, or there isn't. How does it apply? Does it apply to everyone equally, or do you or god pick & choose amongst the sinners, depending upon the severity of the sins? Are there degrees? Not from my readings. A sin is a sin is a sin. Doesn't matter what kind, really, the end result, without grace, is that the soul is lost.
Does "original sin" exist? If so, how does THAT apply?
As we discover that ppl are born with certain traits, these questions have more meaning than ever before.
Does "fairness," as we apply the concept, even exist in christianity? Is it fair for some ppl to be born with traits that they cannot seem to overcome, while others seem to skate through life without those obstacles?
There is a heck of a lot that hasn't been answered for me, &, if christians actually take the time to think about it all, I suspect that they, too, would have many questions that desperately need answering. Thus far, I haven't seen the answers coming from the bible. Nor are they coming from the religious leaders.
I see a lot of what seems to me to be bigotry, where it concerns ppl who have homosexual tendencies.
It wasn't all that long ago that ppl of the faith were treating left-handed ppl as though they were possessed by the devil, only because they were left-handed. I'm wondering if this isn't just another similar situation.
Note the responses right here in this very thread. Note the source cause of the thread. What are the real answers, here?
IS homosexuality an abomination? If indeed these ppl cannot help being what they are, are they sinners by default, before they even start out in life? Do they even HAVE a chance to live perfectly through the law?
What of those who are not exposed to the christian faith, or are born into those societies that accept such things, like the lady-men in the Polynesian islands? Are they to be damned because of ignorance of the law? If given a choice, I suspect that many of them would remain within thier societies, rather than to accept the way that the west looks at thier lives. What they consider to be right & wrong is bound to be a bit different, don't you think?
The fact remains that christians really cannot predict what thier own god thinks, even when they use the holy books as thier guideline. They see something in print, & come to immediate conclusions, but there are extenuating circumstances all too often that I would expect would change the rules for some ppl, no matter what the book may say on the subject. I cannot imagine a god being so strict for the ppl's of the world, who are exposed to so many different influences in thier lives, that he would expect them to be able to make the perfect decisions, even when it comes to that state of grace that christians hold so dear to thier hearts. Many ppl simply cannot understand such a thing. Yet time & time again we are told that you MUST accept this idea, or you are lost.
Yet, if you cannot say with 100% certainty how your god feels about this subject or that, then you cannot judge another person who is living differently than you think is the optimal way to live. I've seen some ppl, like LCME, or whatever his name is, who say they are sure, because of the text of the bible. I suppose that gives him the right to judge others, then, eh? To make those blanketting statements about whatever kind of sinner we're speaking of. I guess it also gives him the right to deny the same rights to those ppl that regular folk have, like marriage & health insurance & a good quality of life.
It's a dangerous spiral, once you begin to judge ppl, imho. I had hoped we had evolved away from that sort of thinking, but the more I talk to ppl about it, the less convinced I am that we have evolved at all.

I am not partial to "alternative sexualities", but I have enough problems making things right on my own plate.
Do you think that your own life is perfect enough for you to start scrutinizing others? Better watch out because you know karma is circular.

Well...
"Jesus said to him, 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and the great commandment. And the second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and Prophets" (Mat 22:37-40)
That second one is very hard.

Gee, you guys really complicate the simple.
God hates sin (all of them)
No sin is greater than another (although some sources say the denial of Christ is unforgivable, I personally don't believe this to be true.)
We all fall short of the glory of God.
Jesus died to save us from our sin.
I keep telling ya'll it's so simple.
My stealing of gum from the store as a child is as great a sin as homosexuality, and Hitlers mass murders.
Can I turn off my lust because I am a Christian?
Do I no longer hate?
We all fall short of the glory of God.
