As far as gays ,what is , what is. Everybody has to learn not to trample on the God given rights of other people. I really have no right to sit in judgement of any other human being,,,untill your punch hits my nose.

I find it disturbing how so many people decry Christians for pushing their "agenda" on homosexuals.
Yet no one has any concern when homosexuals push their agenda on Christians, and especially our children in the schools.
Public education should be about reading, writing, arithmetic, history, geography, and science. Nothing more.
To quote myself, speaking to a primary school principal who suggested the school counselor should "visit" with my daughter.
Your job is to teach them to read and write. Mine is to teach them how to live. Keep your damned counselor away from my children.

The respecting of rights must go both ways.
I don't want to force anyone to live a certain way as you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink.
I do want to make the Gospel of Jesus Christ available to all so that there is an opportunity for the Spirit to lead us all into a quest for a more Christ like existence.
I don't force anyone to change their behaviors.
I'll tolerate no one trying to force me to change mine.

But christians do, right bob? That's why you can't find "The Wizard Of Oz" in school libraries anymore, cuz they had it yanked from the shelves back in the 80's, cuz it mentions a "good witch." That's also why they try to push thier agendas on the rest of us, like the 10 Commandments being put on gov't buildings, cuz freedom of speech, freedom of the press, & freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom FROM any of those things. All's fair with any religious group, as long as thier personal agenda is catered to.

Homosexuality is a sin, and the Bible says so. So why would God create a man to naturally BE homosexual?

There are actually ppl out there who believe that man cannot destroy that which god has made...therefore man has never caused a single species' extinction. This kind of thinking is worse than being uneducated or primitive or childish, it's downright dangerous at times.

As we unlock the secrets of DNA, we keep finding all sorts of things that we didn't necessarilly believe before, Ryan. Will you hold onto your "lessons" from 2,000+ years ago, or try to figure out if they're actually correct? The stuff about how man should not lay with man was from way before Jesus, btw, so those lessons are far older than even 2,000 years, yet this one was kept out of the 10 comandments for some reason. Have you followed THOSE perfectly all your life?

Will you remove the free will of others to choose thier own life style? Is THAT what your god tells you to do? Cuz if so, this country is totally against that sort of thing (supposedly, by law & constitution) - does that mean that the USA is anti-god?

There is some debate over that one.
Some say that there is only 2 commandments with the new covenant.

Notre Dame = greatest Catholic school in America.

BTW: I have a Notre Dame hat that I have wore for at least a decade. It has so much dust and dirt and sweat collected on it that I don't wear it much anymore except for working around the house. I got it not because I'm a fan of Catholicism (I'm not) but because I am a fan of the institution and the football team. I applaud Notre Dame for always taking a stand when it comes to collegiate athletics and putting grades in a place of prominence; you can't just be a great athlete at Notre Dame, you have to be able to make the grades too.

So it saddens me that not only this cartoon was published there, but more importantly, that there appears to be an undercurrent of homosexual bashing and fear on the campus. I hope this event galvanizes the smarter and wiser of the student body into ferreting out those who propagate such fears and bigotry. There really is no place for such behavior.

Ryan - if you believe in God at all, in any way, I would hope you'd leave the judging to him.

What do Catholics have to do with being Christians? Being a Catholic doesn't make you a Christian. I bet at least 60% of the student at Notre Dame aren't saved Christians. And neither was the guy who made this comic.

When I put myself into these debates, I'm only telling you what I've learned from birth, from my parents, from school, from church, from my own research, my own thinking, and from life itself.

So yeah, it bothers me when someone disagrees with the things that I know are true. So I may get a little fired up sometimes. But the thing that I hate the most is when I give a valid point in an argument, then Craig comes in and says "You're just a kid.".

Age doesn't = wisdom. I never join a discussion or an argument unless I know 100% what I am talking about.

Must be nice to be 100% sure. I'm never 100% sure about anything, cuz even when I check out the "facts," I often find there's room for error.

Still, the cartoon was NOT "making fun" of homosexuals. It was saying that it's fun to bash them, to hurt them, in ways the author thinks is funny & clever. That isn't merely "poking fun" at someone. It most certainly could be construed to be a call to action, for many ppl of your types of beliefs, Ryan.

Speaking of your beliefs - do you believe that there were giants who ruled the Earth before man, or were those stories the result of ppl finding dinosaur bones? If they were the latter, then why were they included in an infallible bible? If you believe they're the former, I think you need to rethink a lot of stuff. Are you still 100% sure of your answers?

How can you be so sure that these Catholics aren't "saved?" You sure have a lot of ironclad beliefs about other ppl, for a man of ANY age.

For you to say that this guy who made this comic isn't saved, you must have intimate knowledge of his spirit, eh? Likewise the 60% of Notre Dame students you so easilly dismiss as being other than "saved christians."

I'd personally say that anyone making these kinds of statements cannot consider himself "saved," since he's going against the grain of loving thought that this religion is supposedly pushing for. But you said that you make these kinds of "jokes" all the time, so I must be wrong in my assessments. I mean, you DO consider yourself to be "saved," don't you? Odd way to act, if you are, imho. What are you basing that on? Is there only one form of christianity that is "correct?" Are you saying that these Catholics aren't "saved" because of what they believe, or the way they practice thier faith? Where did you come up with the 60%? Is that, like across the board, with all self-proclaimed christians, or does it only apply to Catholics? Are these ppl fooling themselves, or are they just liars? What is it that differentiates them from "the saved?"

Is that something that is okay to do? Do you not care for the feelings of others? Is it okay not to care? Do you think that perhaps those kinds of statements can lead to more harmful effects? Is it okay to be harmful to homosexuals because they are "sinners" according to your bible? What exactly does that book say about it, anyway? I've forgotten...but I'll bet there isn't any mention of how we should hit them with a bat until they alter thier life style or sexual preferences...or just because it's entertaining...

I mean, you have come to the conclusion that you are saved, I take it? And you say these kinds of things all day long, right? Do you think it is harmful, or not, to say things like that which was said in the comic? Do you think it will "turn them around to god?" Why would you say something like that? I just don't understand that sort of thought process...

Consider this - that even though you are 100% certain that you are right, it could possibly turn out that you are wrong. How you gonna look to your god on judgement day after bashing his creation? Suppose, in spite of your beliefs, that these ppl are made to be this way. Suppose it's just a glitch in the book...

Frankly, your words make you appear to be a simple-minded bigot to me, & I'm really hoping that you can explain it all in a fashion that refutes that assumption. I'd hate to think you're one of those who holds up the bible to support his hatred & bigotry, like I've seen so often before.
