Yeah, I agree with Chippy.
That was my first thought.
That you probably did it coincidentally the first time or two, but with a good internal clock, if you began thinking about it at all, you may very well be programming your own self to wake up at times where the numerals are the same.
Another possibility, or even in conjunction with the first, is that things such as that, catch our brain and therefore eyes, unconsciously.
I know that when I am driving, I don't always pay attention to the clock, but I always seem to catch when the numbers line up, and do a double take. So, I realized that I am doing the double take, because my unconscious mind has already caught it in my peripheral vision.
It's funny this came up, and especially Chippy's comment, because I was just explaining to my step-son last night, that he has slept through his alarm clock the last several days, and that either me or his mother, have had to wake him up. And his alarm is LOUD.
I told him that he could "program" his own brain when he went to sleep at night, to wake up, at the right time... EVEN WITHOUT an alarm clock, because his body KNEW what time it was, even while sleeping. I mentioned that my alarm clock has gone out before, and I had to do this for myself, WITH NO ALARM CLOCK at all, so I would not miss work the next day.
So he tried it last night.
Repeating to himself a bunch of times... "I am getting up at 6am, I am getting up at 6am!"
And of course, he did.
Woke up, just before the alarm went off, and was alert and ready to go!
I like it when they prove what I teach them for themselves.
Makes me feel good, every time they see, that I am not misguiding them, or selling them bullsh*t that isn't true.
