At last I have a really good drums soundtrack to my first snippet soon to be upheld in the annals of BM for all to scrutinize, comment on and perhaps remark upon?
I've learned so much in fact but not just about recording this has actually brush me up on notation, even written music. The odd thing is that I decided to go the hard way, use Linux as much as possible but even yet not 100% but its so close now I can smell the parchment paper. I know some folks use up to 16/25 tracks on a song but I set out to use bare essentials really. 5 to 7 max.
Someday (If someone is interested?) They might want to hear what I've done live so I looked at this very carefully. In a day and age where you can be fooled easily I've tried to stick to the old ways and write what I'm doing as a 5 piece in the good old days.
I don't know whether what I've done or am doing will be looked over with a fine tooth comb, perhaps never methinks? But with so much dubbing, crossfading and other stuff going on today, decided to keep it just plain and simple, let the instruments do the talking to each other and so on.
I've enjoyed it very much so far, I'd love like everyone else to do it for work but I'm a realist too. Anywho. I think If I can get a decent enough vocal down the various bits and pieces some people have listened to here and on MySpace, (Songs now taken down for a while) might get a better angle on my music.
