Canned Heat was one of my favorite bands until I saw them live in the early 80's. What a disappointment. It was about the loudest "noise" I ever heard. I left after a few songs. At that time both Bob Hite and their original harmonica player had already passed away. They had a few really cool songs that I wouldn't mind adding to our current repertoire.

When I was a young man I listened to the blues exclusively, especially John Mayall, Johnny Winter and of course Canned Heat. I've got quite a few of their recordings, including vintage vinyl such as "Live at Topango Coral"" and "Living the Blues". I loved how they did the Wilbert Harrison song "Let's Work Together", very cool.

Of course that chubby lil bastid simply couldn't give the bass man a lead! The blues bands always ignore the bass guy, unless he's the singer like you, bob!
