is that more people get the real meaning of Christmas. When the holiday arrives take some time and really think about what the birth of Jesus has meant for you...

And to my fellow Atheists! - Remember the real spirit of Christmas is about giving! Of yourself, your time, your money - to the people you love!

Do something nice for someone else this holiday season. Help a stranger, donate some canned food, donate some time to your local homeless shelter, reach out to an old friend you haven't talked to in a long time, heal a wound, bury a grudge...

May Santa bring you some joy this holiday season.

No offense Bob but the birth of JC is not the reason I celebrate this holiday. I celebrate the good things of life with my friends and family, and look forward to a bright new year.

Be patient everyone this season. Although it is fun and exciitng, we tend to allow stress to overshadow how weo treat our fellow man and woman. When in the check-out line take the time to get to know a little about someone who is sharing the line with you. Buy a candy cane for the girl/guy who is working the cash register. When you go home from shopping, have a smile on your face because of something special that you did. We all should be able to say "Peace on earth begins with me".

Whether you believe in JC or not the good things in life have been brought to you by something associated with JC...

Sorry again but the good things in my life are from having good parents and working hard my entire life. If your beliefs give you comfort then great but you shouldn't impose them on anyone else.

Actually...I hate to say it, but we're celebrating the date of Mithra's birth, not Jesus'. The date for xmas was set for christians by Constantine in the hope to combine the religions that were constantly at odds with each other in his realm.

No one knows the actual date of Jesus' birth.

In any case, I hope you're enjoying your holy days in a manner that fits with your belief systems.

For myself, I'm trying to keep a positive attitude in the face of a lot of the usual stress & BS what comes with the season, but whatchagonna do?

At least I got all the kid's toys assembled properly & I haven't blowed anything up yet.

heh heh heh

I did come very close to waking up the wife with rifle shots cuz there were 5 deer sleeping outside my window this AM...but I figgered she might find that a lil alarming...

What on Earth makes you think I am imposing anything on anybody?

You're not imposing anything on anybody either. Look up the word impose in the dictionary. Impose means FORCE your views on somebody else. There's no imposing here. You can proclaim loudly all you want, this is a free country. We still have freedom of speech. You can yell and scream as loud as you want your religious views, that's all well and good. You're not forcing people to listen. You're not forcing people to agree with your views. Putting a topic on this forum isn't an imposition. People don't have to even read the topic. The majority of the topics I view on this forum I don't even look at. I have never felt that I've ever been imposed upon by anybody on this forum.
As far as anybody not caring at all about Jesus, that's okay. If somebody is an atheist, that's okay. Everybody has the perfect right in the United States to have whatever views you want on religion. There's nothing wrong with that...

See that word you? That's what I consider imposing your view.

I don't come on here and declare that Jesus as son of God is a myth, or that whether you believe it or not science has done far more for your life than religion ever will. That's because that would be imposing my view on you. Non-Christians get tired of having this stuff crammed down our throats, especially at this time of year. We have every right to celebrate Christmas how we choose, it's not some little club that only believers can belong to.

Yes you have the right to shout it from the rooftops, as I have a the right to deny it.
