As an Englishman I believe that Obama is like a breath of fresh air compared with Bush. You guys are lucky you now have a leader who has intelligence to confront global issues in a progressive way and when something really big happens you will see you have the right guy up there.

I am having a difficult time playing and and creating music when so many people are having a tough time just surviving. The joy is just not there.
Let me tell you a little story about an evil corporation. In new york it is called the M.T.A. [metropolitan transit authority].
This a state backed, state regulated corporation. [That is what has become so important, right.] The workers are protected,to the point that a new worker quit after a month because he was made a target by other workers for trying to do a good job. State back Unionized,Really good right.

This state backed and controlled Corporation Is hurting many more people than it is serving.
This state backed corporatin has :
1. raised fares to extreme rates, they can't keep going on this way.
2.collect from property taxes.
3.collect from phone bill taxes.
4.collect from utility bill taxes.
5.collect from DMV fees ,$ 50.00 car reg, and $30.00 license.
6.sales tax revenue.
7. I love this one.... A new payroll tax .. All you workers ,,,, there goes any hope of a raise..... HERE IS THE REAL KICK IN THE PANTS,,,,
This tax was retroactive. The precedent set here is too scary to go into.Philby,,, you want to owe the govt back taxes because they changed the rules and you now owe an additional $12,523 for ownership of your home. [going back10 years retroactively]

Unfortunatlely this is a perfect example of an EVIL corporation. Sure all the UNION workers are protected. Money is limitless. The MTA doesn't have to show a profit to Evil STOCK HOLDERS,,,, All the while good honest working people are losing their homes,jobs , and everything that was once the American dream.

I know I can't change your mind, but think about this:

They attacked us, killed 4k people and took down 2.5 buildings. I get it. Who are they? A small group of guerrilla fighters who right under our noses, planned and executed a minor attack. We didn't lose any military, we didn't lose half a percent of the NYC population. It was honestly nothing more than few guys stealing gas trucks and driving into supermarkets, only on a larger scale...

Not to say that it wasn't devastating or spectacular.. it absolutely was. I was there, I know firsthand what the damage toll was.

But when you look at it, and our response.. we've displaced 4.5 million people from their homes, killed another 1Mil+, of which less than 1 in every 10 dead were actual "military targets" These are verifyable facts. The ONE GUY we went in to get is long gone, yet we're now stuck in the middle of a civil war WE re-ignited.

Forget that we've now lost more military personnel than were killed in the initial terrorist attack. Let's face facts, and this fact too is absolutely verifyable: We've done more to aid terrorism recruiting for Bin Laden and Al-Queda in one year alone (2004) than they ever could have hoped for in their lifetimes.

*I* read news from many, many sources, most independent and non-affiliated. I only believe what is factual and verifiable. I read between the lines and ignore the laced-in propaganda and NO PARTY has my unyielding loyalty. NONE. I make logical and honest decisions not based on my political beliefs or loyalty, but based solely on what is for the good of myself, my neighbors, my planet, my fellow humans.

When it comes to politics it's a choice of 'the lesser of two evils". Which party least represents your views? Vote against that candidate. Having only two parties limits the ability to choose someone who represents all of your beliefs. I personally am sick of pouring money into countries that I don't care about and who don't care about us. Let them figure it out on their own like we did.

Politics = The business of the people. So, the business of the people offers only two evil choices?

Choice of party should be dictated by your ideals or beliefs.

If you are making your political choices as you indicate above, you are intellectually lazy. Bear in minnd that I am not saying you are but logically that is what you are describing. There is no place for your beliefs? Is that really so, or do you just choose not to seek out the avenue for that, or do you just not really care?
