Bands And Albums.

We are a classic rock cover band with female front. I came across this song by Blue October called HATE ME!!!!!!!!! I FRIGGIN love this song and am trying to pitch it to my 4 other male band mates. One guy is dissing it. I think this will go over kick a$$. Any thoughts.

lol. The song isn't THAT bad and besides... it's popular, which means the general concensus feels the way the author of this thread feels; not you.

Covers can bring some good attention to your band if you do them right and play them to the right crowd. Go for it!

yes covers can, but that band is obviously a one hit wonder, and I would stay far away from that song no matter what.

Especially if your band doesnt like it as well.

They've been around for quite awhile and have had a number of tunes on the radio before. They're very diverse and you probably wouldn't recognize them as the same band without it being noted as such. That being said, I missed the detail about one of the bandmates not being into it. Man, there's nothing worse than having to play a song you're not into... even if it does draw a crowd. If the money is worth it, it's worth a shot but other than that, I say look for something the other guys will be into as well. I absolutely agree with Matt where this is concerned.

i dont really like them but as for them being played on the radio i say it was a payola scandal

play that out and peolple will love you 9 out of 10 people love it
