'YES'-'Bad Company'-'Queen'-'Aerosmith'-Earth,Wind,& Fire'-'Brothers Johnson'. YES is a favorite of all time. All of the band members solo albums were good also. Oh...Cant forget 'Steely Dan'-'Eagles'.

Hey Gang,

Jesus...This post is overwhelming...I dont know where to start...Went though alot of changes from 70-80.... :lol: ...Sdavis has already named a BUNCH of my fav records...In 70, I liked my moms motown stuff..Wilson Pickett, Marvin Gaye etc.She MADE me practice to HER records. :lol: .It kinda grew on me...By 73, I was in my first band and discovered Steppenwolf, Eagles, Doobies, Bad Co,Grandfunk, 3D nite, Allman Bros, Skynrd, etc..."Born to be wild "was my first tune played out...In 75, I discovered Aerosmith, Thin Lizzy, Foghat, Styx, Outlaws,ZZTop, Boston, America, James Taylor,TOO MANY TO LIST.. :lol: I discovered that I could like different genres..My tastes were achangin...By 78, I started playin out 6 nites a week and really got into funk and progressive rock...Rush, Weather Report, Tower of Power mixed in with the Pop of the day.Had to play alot of disco though... :lol: Cant really name a fav from that genre..The 70's lasted till 86...By then ,I knew something had happened. I knew MY decade was dying...Oh well , I got 16 good yrs out of it... :lol:....Today ,in MY world (drums in the basement),I still jam to my favs ...The Doobies, BadCo, James T,Eagles, Aerosmith, Head East, Grand Funk, Boston, Styx, Outlaws, ZZ TOP,Rush,Deep Purple, Allman Bros....WAY TOO MANY...My head is spinnin.. :lol:...This decade haunts me........Ill prolly be in this time warp till I kick the bucket. :lol:

. . . probably a dozen more. Some of these bands were just a phase for me, which I grew out of, as I learned more about music. For instance, I never listen to Black Sabbath or deep Purple anymore.
I still like listening to Yes, Tangerine Dream, Steely Dan, & a few others, however. . . when I'm not actually playing or recording my own stuff, that is . . .

True. I did the same thing with Nick Drake's 'Five Leaves Left'... that was also 1969. Should have saved them for the '60s post...
