i wonder w/c one is better, the gallien kruger bass amp head with 4x10 gk cab or the peavey tour series bass amp head 700w w/ peavey 4x10 cab?

True of any question like this-

If the band's sound calls for more bottom end combined with a growling attack, then you pick an amp that excels at that. If you need a more funky sound, you go with that...

It's not about what amp is overall a better amp, so much as what amp / bass combo influences your sound the best.

For instance, in my band, a standard $800 fender telecaster is the perfect sounding guitar for the music we play, even though technically, a $4000 PRS guitar is superior.

Same goes with the amp, A soldano is a superior amp and about $4000, yet the orange tiny-terror and 2X12 cab only runs about $1200 and would be perfect for what *I* do.

So figure out what will do best for you, not what is the best period.

Yep, I agree completely. I have a Fender super Reverb and Peavey MX rig I use, the Fender is el rauncho deluxe and the MX is clean. But now I'm in a 2 piece and we want a lower stage volume, using electronic drums, so I'm running the Super Reverb for clean and a Fender Champ for raunch.

It just depends on what fits your situation. In the end you might find out neither is your perfect amp and an old Peavey TNT does the trick better than either one...The only way to go is decide what you want and try out different amps until one jumps out at you.

I usually just use a Peavey Combo 400, & it serves me quite well. Sometimes I'll team it up with a powered JBL sub, but not very often. Most club situations don't require that kind of power.

Thanks for your reply however, i don't really believe that the kind of guitar you use in a band is really important, if any. For ex., one time i saw a trash metal band whose guitarist used a telecaster & man, it sounded like Bc Rich guitar of Slayer.
