A fairly unknown Johnny Depp movie, "Dead Man". The entire soundtrack is a distorted guitar with heavy reverb and Bixby vibrato bar. It was all done by Neil Young.

We have discussed this topic before ,but what the hell, it's a good one! :D

I believe that some of the best music being composed today are soundtrack scores.

There are many that I love, but my all time favorite is still the hauntingly beautiful score to the movie "At play in the fields of the lord"

It was written by the great contemporary composer Zbigniew Preisner and blends aboriginal choral music with sumptuous strings.

P.S.
I found a sample of it on good 'ol You-Tube! :D

That would be Rory Galagher handling the blues portion.

I always loved the background music from The Little Rascals and the old Laurel & Hardy movies which were both produced by Hal Roach. They used some of the same tunes in both. Sometimes it was barely audible but it was still there nonetheless.
