Possibly someone that was never discoverd? Just a thought. But if I had to pick from the pro's, I would say. 'Merle Haggard & Karen Carpenter'. Hard to choose without missing so many greats. Will be interesting to see how many choose the same artists.

Check out Myles Kennedy of the band Alter Bridge. Impressive range and power. BTW If you've ever watched the movie Rock Star, he's the kid Wahlberg's character gives the mic to when he leaves Steel Dragon.

I loved Karen Carpenters female baritone voice.....don't hear many, if any, like that. Although didn't do 'sexy' music, but if she had, it would have been audio testosterone. But I have to say as far as 'the best vocalist', I don't think Karen, or anyone (with possibly the exception of Kelly Clarkson) come close to the range, power, and control of Celine Dion.

Best Male, because of the same criteria, I have to say Steve Perry, but that's a tougher choice for me.

I have to agree Brother, With Steve Perry. Cant leave out 'Sebastian Bach' for 'Skid Row'. And I love 'Annie Lennox'.

Either Geddy Lee, Or BrUCE Dickinson!!! Those guys are awesome!
