The band is Bell X 1. Anyone else dig this tune? I think it's a cool homage to The Talking Heads.

mmmmmm sausage, sausage, da bears

Seriously though the talking heads are on my very short list of hated bands. The keys sound in that first vid is ghastly. Couldn't listen to more than a minute of the first link.... sausage.

Made it through the Letterman performance. It has a few redeeming qualities.

I give you props for checking it out Paul.

Talking Heads were one of those love 'em or hate 'em bands. I myself loved 'em; Remain In Light is pure genius.

I was a big fan of Talking Heads & even some David Byrne's solo stuff.

This is good music too, but it hasn't that drive that TH had from the Tom Tom Club. I checked out some of their other songs as well. Yeah, they're quite good, inho.

Thanks Jimmy!

Jimmy I will check themout as soon as I can. I love Talking Heads, I saw them once in Nashville, it was one of the weirdest starts of a concert. There was a lamp on satge and Byrne came out acoustic in hand and started playing Psycho Killer, the rest of the members just filtered out one by one behind him as the song progressed.

When I first got there it was general admission, no seats on the floor and I was asking my friends that got me to go, if they were sure we were in the right place. This wouldve been around 82-84. I thought it was a fantastic concert considering at the time I was basically a metal head. It really opened me up to other genres of music and realizing what else is possible, besides just Les Pauls and Marshalls, and of course Eddie, I was really into Maiden at that time. I think I had seen them a couple of weeks before and almost didnt go see THs cause I thought they were weak at the time.

You may find yourself with a large house
You may find yourself with a beautiful wife
You may ask yourself, Self, How did I get here?

Im not sure if thats correct or not just what I recall of that song, but that asking myself is what Ive done every since.

Thanks for bringing the Heads up Jimmy, I may have to dig out a few of those old cassettes, yeah I was listening to cassettes then!

Oh, and Jimmy, is that their own song or a TH cover? I liked the Heads but wasn't into them enough to know all their material.

Rats you're too funny.

That's their own song and it's just my opinion that it's an homage to the Talking Heads.

At one time composers came right out and said that a new work was an homage. "This new piece is an homage to Wagner". Nowadays everything is cloaked in secrecy.
