Was messin around in a local Pawn Shop today when I spied the Marshall MG15DFX sitting off in the music department.
I kinda slid over there like I was not interested in anything in particular, just to get a look at the price tag.
Well before I got close enough to read the tag without my glasses on, I noticed the Power rocker switch was punched right out of the face plate.
Now how freakin hard can it be to build an amp with the power switch mounted securely ?

Damn, thats just sad fellas.
Somebody ought to flog the Marshall CEO with a Fender power cable.

roland jazz chorus is one of two solid state amps that I would consider (polytone is the other!)... but tis a one trick pony. lemme put it this way sans: jazz guys are googoogaga over them.

IMHO do NOT buy solid state.

IMO buy yourself a crate palimino or v8. 5 watt tube amp that will be louder than an 85watt solid state amp and will sound noticeably better.

$200 brand new, $100 used.

I have pretty much decided to just keep my little Ibanez for messin with in the house. And get the matching cab that goes with my Nomad to put opposite me on the stage left of our live setup.
Thanks to Carvin and Shredd6, that little be-atch rocks !!

Footnote:

My favorite Music Store has the MG line in the showroom now. They were braggin bout the new MG sounding "killer". I did not play one however as when I assessed it by feel I was like, who put this crap out PLAYSCHOOL??
It just looked, and worse felt so cheap-ass. Freakin cardboard back, hell, the power cable does not even disconnect for transport.
When I hold something in my hand, I want it to feel like it's ready to do a days work. This junk dont qualify.

Try again MARSHALL, you missed !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Like I said before, if you're gonna get a good fairly cheap Marshall combo, you can't beat the Marshall 8080 for what you play Sans. Throw an RFT in that thing, and they really sound awesome. I see them for $100-$150 on ebay all the time.

But it would still be inferior to your Carvin. They don't have power tubes, so you don't get that boomy thickness. You know, that punch that makes your hair stand up.

No worries my man, I have no intent of throwing over my girl.
I was really looking at the Sure 57's and the wah's when I went into the shop. I saw all the new amps over against the wall and it drew me like a bug to a light.
Right now I got no business spending a dime musically on anything but studio time, soon as the boys are healthy again.
Heck man I did not even go to Longview to go to the Music Store in the first place, but somehow ended up there anyway. 8)
