A little too country for me really. Impressed as always with your studio work. Phil Collins has the same type of thing going on as regards studio makeup in solo work.

Sadly in some cases and I love my Collins. It's way too clean for a subject as controversial as this in my view.

You are a clean studio/Muso.

Extremely good but it would be a real goody to tell folks how you go about it too, setup/progs/ etc.

Nice songs Craig.

Thanks Chippy! :-)

Not recorded in a studio though... just on my keyboard.

I haven't utilized her Pro-Tools yet, cause we need to expand her hard drive, but I would rather go through my laptop anyway, I think, so I need to get a Firewire adapter for it, which I am too poor to buy just yet.

Taxes come back soo though. And I'll be having some paid gigs coming up soo as well, so things hopefully, will improve a little by the first of the year.

But everything was done, including vocals, in my "Roland Fantom G"

Which I am still learning how to use actually.

It's a beast.

It does really well for semi-professional sounding demos I think.

Thanks for the kind words. :-)

NOW PUT ME BACK ON FACEBOOK DAMMIT!!! :-D

I was trying "demanding" first.

Then I go to "ignoring"

And then "begging" is like last usually.

But I'll do a really grovelling kind of begging to make up for not using it first. It's really pathetic looking though... so don't make me go there.

I have a rebel reputation to uphold! ;-)

Aw shoot Craig!
I read everybodys comments first because being amiture I really did not feel it was my place to say this.

But, they left me no out. :(

You know I love that song, and it always brings a tear to my eye but the percussion sucked, sorry, but it does.
I think all the other parts of the whole were good to awsome, but the dead repetative percussion does it no justice.

This is too well written and beautifull a message to have a weak spot.

Well George,

YOU ARE RIGHT! ;-)

I'm working with these canned beats, and it was NOT the best one, but I was rushed. And it sounded more tinny than usual and I couldn't figure out what I had changed, making it sound like that.

But you are right.

And I am not pleased with my vocals anyway.

So one day soon, I'll probablyu re-do both of those.

Drums and vocals!

And thanks for the kid words about the song.

I think it is a touching song too.

Inspired by real people in my life.

Craig, Sorry I just got around to listening. Great Song! I love the emotional quality that you get out of your songs. I cant remember this one for some reason, but it sounds fresh to my ears. Anytime I feel something move within me while listening to a song its a great time for me. Reading the lyrics and then listening kinda brought a tear to my eye, and I dont cry often, unless some woman breaks my heart! ha ha

Thanks Bro

Your definitely one of the most talented musicians on this site, keep on writing and rocking.

By the way I wrote lyrics for that song demo I put up, called These Guns Are Loaded, its one of the meanest mastiest set of lyrics Ive ever written, Hell I dont know if I can pull it off the way I hear it in my head or not.

Well, I'm looking forward to it. If you feel it needs help, then there are things you can do...

- Triple your voice, for thickness and power.
- Effects can ALWAYS be used to help
- Sing the parts you want to be "in your face" ALONG WITH someone else. Your voice mixed with theirs, just for those parts.
- A surrounding POWERFUL part from a deeper voice, that is not the chorus itself, but sings a powerful line around, or underneath it. Then you are still singing on the chorus, but strengthening it with alternate part that someone else is doing.

Anyway, there's many things that can be done to make the chorus pop.

But, when are we gonna hear this country-style stuff you've been working on?

Craig, for vocals and guitars the trick I taught my buddy is to pan it straight to one side run it thru a delay with somewhere between 10-20 MS delay and pan that the other way. Gives it that huge doubled sound. I do a lot of double and triple tracking. Listen back to Save The Last Dance thats a doubled guitar solo and I can only tell on the endings that its not just a little delay. I know a lot of tricks. I do a lot of recording and dont even think about it til someone says how did that song you did a while back come out.

Im going back in next monday night to do vocals on These Guns Are Loaded and Rock N Roll Ho. Ive got the lyrics down and have been practicing over the demo tracks I ussually dont do that cause its too polished and I dont like polish.

The acousticy things are supposed to be ready monday so I may post some up next week. They are a different departure for me musically.

Ive been practicing with the song These Guns Are Loaded and it maybe the heaviest thing Ive ever put together. The lyrics I came up with send shivers down my spine. Its turned into a very very moody emotional piece for me for some reason.

Rock N Roll Ho, well you can imagine how that works. Trying to be an AC/DC outtake.

Later Alligator
