I was going to post about this last week but I got more than a little side tracked. I was in an Ethnic store about two weeks ago. I love to cook and see the smiles on faces that my food brings, (yeah right!)

I won't say what Ethnicity because I am not racist, it simply doesn't matter but what happened did.

On going to the counter where two of the most miserable people on Earth were serving. (This is a food store). I place my goods upon the counter. The first miserable woman started throwing my stuff out to be weighed and/or priced.

The second walked right behind her. She coughed as though ejecting something stuck in her throat. It didn't sound like an "I am ill cough" either.

What happened next was disgusting and kinda scary.
Instead of making like she was covering her mouth she actually wafted the air in my direction!

If I were to play "Guess The Enthicity," I'd say you were speaking of an asian grocery. I've seen this before, & think it's a Korean/Chinese/Vietnamese thing, for some reason. (I haven't noticed Japanese doing this sorta thing.)

Many years ago I did a short stint in a warehouse with a high proportion of asian women, & my lunch always smelled like Kim Chee, whenever I brought it & put it in the co. fridge. I noticed them doing that a lot & giggling about it, Chppy.

If they dont put a luggy in my stuff i wouldnt worry about it.

My grandfather has this crazy cough he does all the time. Heck Ive had a cough for the past couple of monthes that I cant seem to get rid of, its in my nasal area, not in my chest. Mucus builds and I cough it out, if not it kinda runs down my throat and bugs the hell out of me when Im singing.

I know this isnt relevant to your post, but I was bored at work and just wanted to participate.

Different people do react to different things. Ive got this guy that comes to my solo gigs, hes cajun and he always buys me beer. Thats fine and dandy except one night he bought so much I couldnt drink it all. I left a beer and he got a little offended. I finally got the courage to ask what was going on and he told me that if he gives someone a beer he expects them to drink it. I kinda of apologized and told him I had been sick which I had and that I just couldnt handle drinking that much. My next show he came up and asked, If I would like a beer before he sent it too me. So he and I are cool.

Isnt it proper in Arabic countrys to burp after you eat someones food, the louder the better.

I think you have to be aware of different ethnic groups expectations, particularly if you are on their turf or enviroment, however when they come into mine I expect them to respect me also. Its a 2 way street.

I was at a Mexican restaurant last year and one of the Mexican guys eating there ordered a fajita with the hottest peppers they could put in it. They brought out his fajita and it was sizzling. The steam filled the restaurant and had traces of the hot peppers in it and everybody in the restaurant started coughing like crazy. All the Mexicans were laughing and coughing and us Gringoes were horrified, we thought it was a terrorist gas attack! They opened a few doors and aired the place out so it didn't last very long...

You do realize I'm from Europe and I've travelled a fare bit right?
Not just to the next state, but across countries and all that?

Just wondered if that bothered you at all? What with swine thingy hanging around? Custom or not its a disgusting habit as it talking with your mouth full or flicking food around your teeth with your mouth wide open which will become some of the next mornings excretions.

Catching my drift now right? Alrighty then. Should something really nasty come along I do know we are doomed. Lol! I've suddenly taken to liking flies. Mmmmmmm. Hahahahaha
