I always believed this was a country were a man of free will ,not afraid of hard and long work could profit from his/her endeavours. When I see talk about not being able to afford gas to go and do something artistic , I am shocked. You should be too.

National healthcare: do the math. 890 billion dollars for 35 million americans that have no insurance, divided by 10 years, divided by 12 months a year, breaks down to about @ $212 a month. This is not not inflation adjusted.

Since when has our govt been able to run a program this well. NEVER!

You think you can't afford gas now wait till this gets rammed down your throats.

By the way 35 million Americans is less than 10% of our population.

Get ready for peeps to start working off the books.... this is getting fukkin' insane.... I can barely keep up with the bills I have now... God forbid my car breaks down or something seriously happend.... I'm basically fukt! No more puttting money away for crucial tmes in my house.... it's all used up.... just the basic necessities.... In order for me to purchase a high priced item (i,e. guitars, bikes, presents) I find myself trading in items for pennies on the dollar.... It's getting real bad and they're saying we're out of the recession... tell that to my boss who not only cut my hours 40% but hasn't increased my salary in 3 years... can't find aother job over here so hafta be the freakin' cad and deal with it....

Consider that a large part of the $890 billion to which you refer is a largely inflated amount, inflated by pharmaceutical co's gouging the American public. Also included in this is the padding out of individual Dr fees, due to the outrageous expense of Dr's insurance costs.

Costs for identical pharmaceuticals outside this country often cost well over 99% LESS than they do here in the states. The reason? Those gov'ts won't allow the fleecing anymore, because they are paying for those meds, now.

When & if this happens in the states (& I truly hope that it does), MUCH will have to be done to reduce costs both to us AND to our gov't.

Despite the bewailing, the breast-beating, & the wringing of hands every time this subject comes up, PEOPLE NEED HEALTH CARE!!!!

HEALTH CARE SHOULD BE A RIGHT FOR ALL AMERICANS - NOT JUST THOSE WHO CAN AFFORD IT, because, the way things are heading, NONE of us regular folk will be able to afford it very soon.

Many of our co's have taken on a significant temporary work force. The reason? The co saves money by not having to include any benefits for these workers. They work less than full time, so they often need more than one job, yet STILL, with all their hard work, with both ppl in a marriage working long hours, they cannot afford health care. Add to that the outsourcing of jobs, raising the unemployment rate, with even MORE ppl living without insurance.

Who benefits from this situation? Only those who own the co's. The rest of us are left to flounder, while some jerky talking head spouts off about us not working or saving hard enough.

So keep buying into the scare tactics of the far right if you wish. I won't.

The illegal aliens get free health care; when they show up sick in the emergency room - someone pays for their care; and they can't even speak english, let alone pay taxes . . .
... hmmm . . . wonder who ultimately pays all their bills . . . and they're not even Americans . . .

DAMN IT I'M TIRED OF HEARING ABOUT THIS RIDICULOUS NATIONALIZED HEALTH CARE BILL BEING PROPOSED. 2,000 FUC*ING PAGES? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? THEY INTRODUCE A BILL CONTAINING 2,000 PAGES? WHO HAS TIME TO READ THRU ALL THAT SH*T? WHERE'S THE DAMN TORT REFORM? WANT TO SAVE MONEY ON HEALTHCARE? THIS IS HOW TO DO IT:
1) TORT REFORM
2) ALLOW INSURANCE COMPANIES TO SELL THEIR PRODUCTS NATIONWIDE.
3) ELIMINATE GROUP INSURANCE RATES. EVERYBODY PAYS THE SAME RATE, PERIOD.
4) PROVIDE SIGNIFICANT TAX DEDUCTIONS FOR EMPLOYERS WHO OFFER HEALTH INSURANCE
5) DOCTORS HAVE THE OPTION OF PURCHASING MALPRACTICE INSURANCE.
6) CREATE A NATIONAL HEALTH PROVIDERS BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU SO BAD DOCTORS CAN'T RELOCATE TO OTHER STATES AND HIDE THEIR RECORD FROM ANYBODY
7) MAKE PUBLIC RECORD OF ALL CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AGAINST PHARMACEUTICAL COMPANIES, WILL KEEP THEM HONEST
8) ALTERNATIVE HEALTH PRACTITIONERS MUST BE INCLUDED IN HEALTH INSURANCE POLICIES, EXAMPLE CHIROPRACTORS, NATUROPATHS (HOLISTIC), ETC.
9) EVERY PERSON WHO IS WORKING AND PAYING TAXES MUST HAVE SOME FORM OF HEALTH COVERAGE OF THEIR CHOOSING. IT COULD BE ONLY CATASTROPHIC OR WHATEVER THEY WANT.
10) ENHANCE TAX ADVANTAGES OF HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNTS
11) REQUIRE THOSE WITH HEALTH COVERAGE TO RECEIVE PHYSICALS ONCE A YEAR. THE PHYSICALS MUST BE A FREE FEATURE OF ANY INSURANCE POLICY
12) ALLOW ILLEGAL ALIENS ACCESS TO HEALTHCARE BUT THEY FIRST MUST REGISTER WITH THE U.S. GOVERNMENT AND HAVE PROOF THEY HAVE PURCHASED A MINIMAL HEALTH INSURANCE POLICY
13) MORE TORT REFORM

THERE YOU HAVE IT, fisherman bob's NATIONAL HEALTH INSURANCE MADE EASY. 2,000 pages? SCREW THAT!

just take away every reason to be in business and put anyone to work. no way you can pay for good healthcare on 200 bucks a month. unless we are gonna talk about $500 copays and no, that is not counting inflation. If any one just wants to blame the big companies and exexs of those cos than try to start your own company or just keep getting brainwashed by a govt that is not creating real goods and services except in fairytale land. Next, lets just start confiscating anything you do have.
Right wing NO . RIGHT ,,,Yes.
Why is it that people that don't have are allways trying to steal from people that do. Instead of using any logical sense, people hear they are getting something for free and its great. This is not and never will be the great trbal community that hilarity clinton wants wants every one to participate in. even the eskimo indians would force some one to leave if they didn't or coudn't pull their weight any longer. Try and touch the clinton wealth now, won't happen.
try and take whatever you can away from Philby... he is fair game.

You are the reason I don't like you arrogant canadiens.
You resent the fact that this is a country of free will.
Free will also means being able to help less fortunate people, a big point you miss.If you wan't to bring your Canadien ideals south ,,,,, Don't bother because I can see you are just another little pissant that expects the govt to wipe your butt for you.
The whole point of this was musicians are having trouble paying for gas to get rehearsals,CRIP is getting fffffd, and people like you still have this tude that its ok to be bent over.
Wrong, you have to be able to food on the table and pay your bills before you can be truly creative, and all I see is a govt that is making promises while they take away from you guys and gals ,and you can't afford gas to get to rehearsal.

Oh yea , the more I hear you canadiens the less I respect your politics.

Glen,

You've got to stop going off on the Canadians. LOL

Maybe he is just pointing out that we are not as "free" as we thought we were. One could hardly argue with that point these days.

Be nice to Canada. It will probably become part of America sooner or later. ;-)

On the other hand, before long, we may be wishing WE WERE Canada in the near future if the current course is not reversed.

NO I DON"T . I will go after a whole country of people that want to tell what I should do If I have to. Its like this,,,,
Some gay guy tells me he had a wonderful time with his partner last night. My free will says to be tolerant and respect his position of free will. When he tells me I am spending to much time with my wife and its not healthy and it is immoral then ... he is exercising his free will on mine.... Very simple free will means being allowed to make the choice to not control your fellow man in a way that may negative.
Canadiens , let um stay up there and freeze,we cant afford their problems right now,, besides we are the only place they can go when their healthcare system lets them down.

To be fair.
If you did the Math anywhere in the world you would end up not trusting anything because by its very nature it is unfathomable. There will always be someone skimming something, always someone telling a lie, always someone with a gripe, always someone sooper happy and hiding head in sand and blinkered.

There are some constants here though. The price of food and the ability to grow it and pay for it to consume. That's pretty easy stuff if you are in that field.

The rest? I dunno....

You sound like an eight year old after his first sip of beer. Chill out, Mr. Faithful Patriot and open your eyes, instead of holding onto things that you don't have anymore.

You really think you have so much freedom? Mr. T was right. I pity, you, fools too.
