damn Philbymon.. that's messed up.

I had meant to mention that in my own diatribe there -

Doctors (big pharma mostly) have no interest whatsoever in "cures", there's only a ONE-TIME payment in curing diseases. The best capitalist way to solve illness is ..... survey says: ------> Management! Yes, we need to manage our illnesses, take regular meds, daily, if not several times a day, at non-negotiated rates!

These same companies also get to use your hard earned dollars to put commercial after commercial on TV, ads in magazines, etc... ALL designed to convince you that you aren't happy, don't feel well, or soon won't .. if you don't take this or that drug.

I went through HELL getting my carpal tunnel surgery - my PCP insisted I try to manage it through drugs, then chiro, then massage therapy, then electro-shock therapy, then effin acupuncture! I actually drew the line after the shock therapy and demanded a referral to a SURGEON, and my PCP refused and told me if I didn't like it, to go find another doctor (yeah.. it really went down like that...) 15+ office visits over a 1.5 year period to correct a problem that only has ONE viable "cure".

I really don't like the system these days.

I did get the seasonal flu shot. Though I am not sure why. They told me I needed it, Yeah thats the ticket! LOL! Every since I found out I am diabetic man the doctors wanting to schedule me for this and that. I have been poked and proded from both ends. Man I know what it must be like to be abducted by aliens and have the old anal probing done. What an experience! good drugs though! The best I ever had, even better than shrooms woo! hoo!
I am ready to get off all the meds thank God my doctor is one that believes in taking 0 meds if possible. He told me he doesn't get paid anymore for writing more scripts. I have been working out walking 2 brisk miles a day drinking way less alcohol eating right and I am completely off of sugar. I have lost 30 lbs. and never felt better!

My work place we give all employees a yearly flu shot. I also always get the B12 shot that they offer. Over the past 10 yrs or so I cant recall anyone having the flu. So I guess its working for us.

As a person that got addicted to a prescription drug. I feel that doctors and the big companys do the country a big disservice by prescribing so many drugs to people that probably dont need it. I thank God that a friend in the medical industry caught on to what happened to me and helped wean me off what I was given. I went thru a couple of weeks of cold turkey hell, but if it hadnt been for this special person I would still be in that hell hole I fell in. I think people should look at their diets and lifestyles and exercise to combat problems they face. Probably over half the people in this country on some medication could face these risks thru some natural remedys. In short I think that each individual should take responsibilty for their own health and well being instead of relying on some pill to do it. On the other hand there is a certain percentage of people who really need help. But most are just abusers.

Thats just my take on things, no slam intended toward anyone here!

Haley thats great, I know it feels good to shed some pounds. I went from 200 down to 162, and I never felt better. The main thing I did was quit drinking soft drinks and drink water. I also started counting my calorie intake and adjusted my food to what my body really needed. Im around 2800 calories a day. Its just math. All these diet deals crack me up cause in the end if you want to lose weight, at some point you have to take action.

Sorry you have Diabetes, but it may lead you to a healthier lifestyle.

Sanofi Pasture is a few miles up the road from me and its a big part of our local economy, so I shouldn't bad mouth them.

My doctor asked me if I wanted the shot the other day. I told his "no" and left it at that. He didn't push it or anything. I think that it is Kaiser's protocol to have the dr.'s ask the patient if they want it. But the docs never push any medical treatment on the patient. I have not even had a cold in seven years ( I do blame my diet ) so I decided not to have the H1N1 immunization. My famly has no plans on getting it either.

My opinion of all flu vaccines is it's just "sales".

Infuenze, like all virus mutate easly. It may or may not respond to your innoculation. My biggest question to other medical professionals is why do you have to take a shot every year? Mutation and a miriad of strains is the answer. I will not take flu shots.
Funny, I have heard that the employees of the main and satalite hospitals of the system I work for have had their vaccination, yet there are none for the Rehab or my patients. Bet the CEO co**sucker got his first.
The big lie was somehow they would produce enough for "everyone".
When they qualify that by saying they will start with "high risk" people first, thats your first BS indicator.

I've already had my seasonal flu shot and can't wait to get one for H1N1. I have not died and I am not sick it seems to me that I recall getting a polio shot when I was a kid. Through vaccines we've pretty much stamped that out in the developed world. Same with small pox. In the third world, where they think a lot like the posters here, its endemic, because they think the shots are a western plot. So boys and girls, if you want to be like ignorant folk in the third world don't get the shot, take your chances, afterall its a huge "LEFT WING CONSPIRACY"... LMAO....

yanidy - it was paid for, even if it wasn't by you. Employers, insurance co's or the state or sometimes even stores will buy it to get ppl in & offer it for "free" but it's ALWAYS paid for by someone.

Dess - don't count on those polio & small pox vaccines to protect you forever, cuz they wear out. In fact, they're telling us that the ones ppl got in the 50's are no longer viable. The additives in the vaccines are as dangerous as the diseases they're supposed to prevent, in the long run, in many cases. I'll take my chances with a mere flu before I'll dump whatever unknown chemicals into my system in the name of corporate profit, & that is a fairly informed opinion, unlike the "ignorant" 3rd world ppl you wanna compare me to. There IS a reason we have a higher instance of birth defects than the 3rd world, haven't you heard? But you go ahead & blindly trust the powers that be for your health & well-being, & laugh all the way into your alzheimer years while you're at it. Then other ppl can make even more profits from treating the problems that they caused for you in the 1st place. Enjoy!

I was reading this today. Oddly it mirrors what a lot of people are saying here. I don't know about it at all and I think Dessalines made a very valid point frankly.

It's just that before coming here I'd never heard of yearly shots for this and that. I rarely EVER take a whole course of antibiotics and only pills for the odd hangover or cold.

It's a medical fact that the more antibiotic you pump the more the germ learns. Not that helps anyone in desperate need of care.

And the sad thing is? We don't have enough Vaccine at all. So then my argument Pro or Con was a complete waste of time. I don't even know of a centre near me frankly.

I'll wait for the leaflet drop or some Soldier to knock the door and inform me of what to do next?
