MySpace?
I say good riddance.

If you want a website for your band, then get a website for your band. -with a guuestbook, and an email list that folks can sign up for.

Took me a little time to get adjusted to it, but I like Facebook better.
I deleted all of my myspace stuff.

And twiiter? If you like twitter then you have a problem.
Who wants their every move broadcasted?
1) Unless you're a star, nobody cares.
2) If youre not a narcisist, you shouldnt care so much about 'tweeting' "I'm taking a sh*t right now"

Nah MySpace is goodspace.
Every looked up your band? If you've been there a while likely chances are that you'll get a top mention on one engine.

The Golden rule here is............. Use everything that is available but be prepared to spend long hours updating and talking to people.

Nowt like a dead site is there?
Like mine :D

Getting to that shortly.

That's only one way to use Twitter.

Noush Skaugen has figured out how to use Twitter to maximum effect. She's a pretty good role model to follow for independent musicians.

If you are an unsigned artist you should be using every tool at your disposal, and that includes Twitter. You should have a Myspace page, a Facebook page, and a professional website. You cannot have your brand out there enough.

Personally, I don't get it. I think that Facebook sucks! It seems to me that it's more geared towards soccer-moms and alternative lifestyle type of guys...Not that I have a problem with that, but...nuff said.

I really have to go to work right now, but in all honesty, Facebook has been better for us than Myspace as far as getting people to come to our shows.

If you look at our Facebook page:

http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/LasVegasReggae?ref=ts

It's pretty simple and as effective as Myspace. Fans can interact, you can see our music and upcoming shows on the left, we can post random vids (people like that kind of stuff), remind people of our upcoming shows. What's cool too, is you can link up a Reverb Nation Player to Facebook.

It's worked out pretty good for us so far. We have 2.500 fans within a matter of months and we're creating a steady local following.

It's like Kramerguy pointed out. A lot of people don't want to wait for a million things to load, and could care less about seeing how you spruced up your page. It's simple and to the point. We get a lot more activity on our Facebook than our Myspace.

I just listened to a bands music on Facebook. They have a player now.
Myspace has been where all of my offers have come from so I can't hate on it too much, but it is still a slow, spam ridden pain in the ass!
gonna go try to add my music to Facebook now.

I'd have to hire someone to take care of any and all of those sites if I wanted to use them more . Mabe when business picks up I can get someone to help me out with it. I'm so technically challenged I'm barely able to get all I have to do done. Facebook helped me hook up with some old friends and family so I would consider a band site as well.

Another day in Paradise !!!!
